Well I went the other way and had a couple of 987's back to back as daily's.
Need something with a bit more space these days hence having the zed as a 3rd car 2-3k a year car.

here's a few snaps of my 2nd one a few months after delivery and I had had it detailed

I know its seven years ago now, but I cant help thinking how dated it looks inside

Nice, looks like the rs60 spec with a black roof

It was/is an RS60. They offered an alternative to the sea of red in a very dark grey interior (almost black) with a black roof. Some will say it need to be red inside to be a proper RS60 but I prefered the grey to the red interior, would have liked teh red roof though.

Some lovely cars so far

My old Boxster 550 Anniversary, with Nav

Ps it looks like there's only Mr Wilks and myself had 'Real' Porsches so far :poke: :fuelfire:

Very happy memories of nipping back into the garage after id been out in it just to hear the clicking + ticking noises as it cooled & the unique aroma from the air/oil cooled engine :) & the flat6 engine noise was something too  the 964 is the only car ive ever regretted selling

Haha I remember doing the same, the odd drip of oil on the Heat Exchangers, nothing quite like it! oh my air box exploded once as I started it in the garage, proper bang! I got a new one an had a pop off valve fitted, much safer and cheaper! :D

I suppose I should play this game as a P defector too. Here's a couple of my 981 S:

Very nice, thought it looked familiar, I really liked the rs60 when it was released, I think the black top probably makes it a rare spec too

They where fookin horrible..Expensive too.

But the hollow spokes came with it,and i fitted them. The 19" where sold for £650..

Just got no pics with the twists on...

I also went the other way.

I bought a 3.2 Carrera needing the usual rust work: kidney bowls, sills, wings etc. I'm almost certain it was the last one that ever came up for sale for less than £10k. Got the rot sorted, got in a couple of trackdays and enjoyed experiencing the handling, but I missed my racing and thought I'd sell it for a profit and get in a decent season. Sold it easily, made a good profit and bought an Elise with an Audi turbo conversion. Within the first day I knew I'd made a mistake and tbh I mourned for the 911 for the next year. The Elise was the worst car I've ever owned, with a 2nd in class the best result and I knew I would never be able to buy a Coupe air cooled 911 again. Looking at these photos makes me sad two years on. :( They say better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all, but I'm not so sure. Then again I know that the next owner spent over £10k in the following 6 months rebuilding the gearbox, replacing all the rubbers and almost a full respray and even then there was more to spend! :o
Looked at buying a 996 after the Elise but decided on the Z4MR with the superb S54 the clincher.

Driven like I'd stolen it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8WJpqQbyrk

My wife had more than two years and 40k miles of superb motoring in her 986 Boxster S including trackdays and holidays for virtually no outlay except tyres and routine servicing (done by me), selling it for a loss of £300!!!!!

I've got better pics but these are as good as I have hosted online.

My gemballa tweaked 996.. curently very close to going for a GT4/older gallardo/360 as a trade in though, stuck between some serious mods or simply trading in

Some lovely porkers on show, here's a few pics of my old 993.

So far the only 'Porsche' worthy of this thread! :)

Bit rude.....par for the course from you though.

I think there's some lovely examples, keep em coming..... (makes a change from looking at CSL's)

Targatastic in the Alps by Tom Scott... don't think I'll ever get bored of this car .. 2 years of ownership and can't bear to think of getting rid of it from a serial car changer .. going through these shots put a big smile on the face . Loved the two Zeds I had and still a huge E85 fan but the 997 Gen II Targa does everything I want out of a sportscar .
