I tried to speak to them about whether they’d cover my car with a race chip but they 1) didn’t seem to understand what I was talking about and 2) said they don’t cover engine mods at all. So I’d probably have to look into other insurers.![]()

I just thought if you were going to 'fess up to an ecu remap which would take some effort to find that the different alloy wheels and spoiler which are very obvious might as well be declared.
At the end of the day the only time you need insurance is when you have the mother of all accidents and then when the insurers are looking at a £1m payout for the 11 year old kid that is now crippled for the rest of their life, they will look very hard for a way out!!
