Ronk

It’s deemed as non urgent!
And it looks as if I was a no show

I’m well brass well brassed off and I phoned to bellyache but got the brick wall an oh so sorry!

That's rubbish

Tell the docs it's coming off regardless, might change their tune

I'm sure for you a week seems like a month wearing a brace and just want it off ASAP.

Tim.

I could take it off as it only has Velcro straps - but I’m sure there should be supervision and possibly another ct and mri scan

If you take it off and something bad results you wouldn't have any grounds to complain.

Wonder though what would happen if you walked into A&E and told them it was stressing you out and asked them to take it off, would they?

Could you take it off and lie carefully on the floor and make out that you had slipped, knocked the brace against the end of the bed and it had fallen off. :?

That’s poor form - frustrating for you and a waste of an appointment, so adding to the protracted waiting times for OPD clinics.
If your appointment is with a spine surgeon or physio, I expect that they would want to examine you out of the brace and consider repeat X-rays, maybe including flexion and extension views before letting you go without it. They might put you in a soft collar for a few more weeks, but with bathroom privileges.
Probably best you don’t just rip it off yourself and go home!

Well tomorrow is another big day I hope.
Ambulance booked tö take me to the consults clinic.

A push type wheel chair is In my room ready to go.

I’ve got a back up plan in place in case of another no show!

As you are paying for their pay rise, the least they can do is show up
Don't be silly. This is the UK in 2024, not 1984. Nobody gives a s**t anymore as they will still get paid no matter what (and that is the ONLY thing that matters in 2024).

Ron....you have my best wishes (as always).

Good luck mate. If its a no show by the ambulance crew again, how fast can you and your chair get to the hospital?
