Ronk

There’s a possibility of me being discharged from intermediate care at the end of next week.
The physio team will put in some kit into my houses to allow me some mobility around the place.

I’m walking but only with the frame- i aspire to a walking stick!
I have bought an assist handle fot the car door lock on the B pillar in the hope i will be able to get into a car at sometime soon - at least as a passenger.

It’s bloody depressing In a care home!
Although staff are generally caring, they all talk with elevated volume and in a very simplified manner.
I find it very condescending ~ but I’m probably the youngest in here

I suspect I won’t be driving for some time unfortunately. I sincerely hope I will be able to keep and use my 35is

My daughter says the look decent quality and she used them and confirmed they do help to lift your bum off the seat
A definite help for most of us of a more mature vintage !

How very posh you are Ron. How many are we talking; two....ten? :D

Hope everything goes well. Keep at it and you will be break-dancing again in no time.

I’ve found it quite a struggle ( pre accident) to get myself out of the Z so I had contemplated trying the assistance handle gizmos.

My hand has been forced!

I am happy to use them if they keep me in the Z for a while longer
I suspect i won’t be the only one either!

At this stage I will struggle getting into a car - but i keep on trying!

Into it is easy, you just fall into it so to speak. Climbing out is another matter - just a couple of knee pads and a prayer mat will see you coming out of the car no problems  8)

For a good while I’ve dropped the roof and hauled myself up before putting a leg out!
The handle must help?

I put my right leg out first, rest my calf against the cill and use this to help lever myself out with my right hand pushing on the top of the door cill. I’m short and my seat is at its highest level this means I’m not as low as a langky person, I think this helps
