I had a similar experience to yours in that 'the end' brought about a feeling of great peace. She had suffered so much that it was a relief seeing her able to finally let go surrounded by those who loved her. In another similar twist of fate, my girlfriends car was badly vandalised in the hospital car park but it didn't seem to matter at the time. Anyway, best wishes.
