Now very Happy with my E89 35is purchase

When I got my E85 3.0si it had run flats on and straight away driving it home on the motorway I felt the car tram lining and the same day on country lanes the handling was skittish bordering on scary so I replaced them and the car was so much better, but with my 35i which I have just got the run flats feel absolutely fine to me it doesn't tram line and the ride and handling feel good and safe so I am chuffed to bits and I won't be changing them at all they are fine

There are quite a few of us who don't think the RF's aren't that bad on the E89.

Yep, mine are absolutely fine. I've always stuck with them as I want to be able get to a garage if I get a puncture.

I'm sure that RF are safer at Autobahn speeds and as I take mine to Germany each year swmbo has insisted on me using them!
She spoke to friends in Germany last year who convinced her of the safety aspect!

Strange. I would have thought that any tyres fitted (regardless to RFT ot not) would have the same speed rating, which is doubtlessly beyond the top speed of the car anyway. Can't see any safety issue here.

I'm sure the speed ratings do conform - but pick up a puncture at 140 ish and see how long the tyre stays reasonably intact - they say a runflat remains viable ( even at those speeds) for much longer after the warning lights and beeps!

Hi all

just a little detailing question

I have always been a autoglym man, as jet I have only washed the car and rinsed with my autogleam water cartridge

what is the best way to get a deep shine, the autoglym wax seems to be very good when you read reviews etc

ive been looking at this s well , ive recently purchased an autobrite foam gun and std magifoam , so i jet washm use the foam jett off then use AG shampoo, before i would squegee off then leather i had a cloth /bucket for the wheel and another cloth bucket for the body ,thanks to the advice ive been given here i wont be using the squgee or leather any more , and ive purchased one of these drying towels ,,i going to go over the car with AG SRP and correct cloths , then im debating what to do next i have considered Victoria concours wax ,or Zaino Polish , one guy on here has virtually every Auto Finness prod going but his car is absolutly and utterly stunning ,see first clean in 7 months in Detailing sectin

i love the 35 is when we got our Zed i wanted the latest 2.0 lit engine emissions and tax etc ,but i think the 35 is is a keeper for the future

Swissvax. I have used the Autoglym wax and its initial shine is good but not that long lived. Swissvax shield is my preferred potion . . . . . . . after a good wash, clay bar, wash, deep clean and polish of course! It easily lasts for six moths and still shows significant beading after a year.

I really like 50CAL glaze and seal with Artdejohnson seal coat..

Amazing shine that lasts months..

Mr Bond. If you are doing it yourself (and assuming that the government aren't paying the bill) on a budget, then clean it well and seal with Carlack.

I am thinking of trading in my 35IS in for it, do you think I am mad ?

Yes!

(Unless you really need to free up some cash _ but you'll be paying top dollar for the M and getting a shed load knocked off your one owner new motor - you will be loosing a lot of cash )

Really frustrating for me, as I don't know whats up with me lately .. why cant I just be happy with what I have, driving my wife nuts at the mo.

The E89 35is is a great car and the DCT makes sense for me, also I think I do have a issue with anxiety and paranoia left over from my over active thyroid treatment, so I suppose that does not help.

Its little things like no emergency open or close procedure for the roof that bugs me ... set the scene out in the sticks somewhere and the roof fails mid postion and then it starts to rain etc etc .. help

You live near the south coast don't you?
Get yourself a set of roadsterbags. Passport, sunscreen , put the roof down and go to the warm parts of Europe!

Oh and stop worrying - the car has a warranty and you can always keep a sheet of polythene in the boot if it bothers you. Sorry to be so pragmatic but I'm waiting to see a cardio fella
