Your car will be quite unique, how much do you think you'd get for it ?
£8,300 sounds like a good price

Would love to get that much!! No idea what it's worth not much more if anything than a standard zed maybe less :o guess it depends if it's what someone wants?

You've had your load of issues with the Zed for sure... Building a kit car may be right up your alley but you will miss the power of your 3.0 ? I had the same feeling a while ago but each time I went for a drive, I couldn't stop smiling... 8)

Maybe I do plan on spending some more time. And a whole load more love on it over the winter. Maybe when it looks right and dose not rattle and squeak I might feel different. But I keep looking at these and a mate builds the body's  tubular frame turbo charged air cooled race car that looks this cool  :)

Something similar to this

That looks like quite a project... If you're already fed up with a car that's 95% ready, are you sure you are ready for such a big and long-time project?

 ha ha that's a bloody good point. And very well observed my wife says the same type of thing all the time

If you sell Mat you know your end up buying another one. Imagine driving to work in a sensible car on a sunny day and being overtaken by a Z with the roof down :( :( :(

If you've fancied building a kit then go for it. You don't need to spend a fortune. (Depending on what you want)

You don't need loads of horsepower to have a have a fun car.

I sold my 07 facelift to fund a build and then got myself a tidy pre-facelift :)

7k posts and it's about leaving and possibly getting rid of the zed! I wonder if I will reach 8k!!

Get the turbo project on the go then you will hit 8k easy

I've been looking around for info about getting more power out of the 3.0 but it's bloody hopeless :headbang: I'm amazed the only real mod is a supercharger and that's over half the price of the car. The Z really needs 300bhp......

If I do the turbo kit I am aiming for 400bhp but I just don't feel happy with the zed!! I have done so much work and played and tried lots of things. And I can't get what I want from it!

Hard to pin point really. One last push over Christmas then if I am not 100% or even 85% happy I will move on.

I can't stop thinking about other cars.

Hi Mat,
I think your going to struggle making your Z into a good road/track car, It will always be to compromised. I ruined my 7 when I got into track days, great on the track bloody horrible everywhere else. And ended up rebuilding it as a road car, ditching paddle clutch, Quaife box, rose joints, quick rack etc, If I were you I would make the Z the best road car you can make it, and get yourself something like a 7 as a track car (A 225 bhp 2.0 in a 600kg RWD go cart is a hoot on a track!)
Stu.

Steve thanks for you input.......

Ok soz

Right sensible, spray it, run it till spring and if you're still fed up with it, then sell and get another project!?
If it was me I'd drive it rather than keep tinkering with it tho!

What is exactly the case in the UK with oldtimers? In Belgium, cars older than 25 years require only 1 inspection instead of the annual inspection, insurance and tax is supercheap and horespower does not affect insurance or tax. Is that similar to the UK? If so, you could get a really cheap track car that is still lots of fun, especially if you import one out of Germany where you have loads of prepped cars on mobile.de.

Sod the dog, if your determined to go kit car get one of these.

Not that I probably ever will have either the money or the ability to accomplish, if I did have I'd definitely be looking at an Ultima (I have no affiliation with the company, just like the cars)
