You need to find a place to do a donut test, just to make absolutely sure that LSD is doing it's job  :driving:

Well done mate, you're like the SAS of Z owners - who dares wins

Looks & sounds epic Mat , my lad & his pal's would be mega impressed with that system ( as i am ) & would categorise it as "ripping" :D
I have a neighbour who leaves for work every weekday at 7-20am , i know because i hear his car crack up & tickover for 2/3 mins before he burbles gently up the road , i then hear him pull onto the main road with a throaty bark & he's gone
He has a 997 C4s with PSE & it makes my day when i hear it :P sure your neighbour's could learn to love it mate

Thanks Andy my closet neighbor has a TVR so i am sure he wont complain. And the other guy across the road cam over the other day to tell me he liked it. So far its only Mrs Monkey that dose not like it!!

Phase 2 to start Sunday. Front control arms and tie rod ends. Drill steering rack for the grease nipple mod. And then the alignment all sorted. (and put my interior back together)

Shake down runs going well nothing came off. The exhaust has come loose on the drivers side. So i am going to change the nuts to nyloc nuts hopefully solve that one. I have a bit of blowing on the join so i need to get the car on a ramp to i can fix it properly. also i need to equal out the tips and then its all done.

Next project is to make my standard seats a bit sportier. I have had a spare seat for about 2 years now. Its about time to start. The plan is to use the center of the seat and the frame to keep the heating element and electric adjustment functioning. But to make bigger shaped bolsters i am planing on making and aluminum frame with foam padding and cover that with alcatra. then i will get my modified (flat bottom Audi style) steering wheel done to match.

Lots of plans very little time and even less money. So it will all be done Monkey style by me :)

Thanks buddy by getting my hands very dirty and making it all in the man cave

Would have cost me thousands if I didn't. Once all this is done I am learning to spray so it can be as shiny as yours. Then hopefully twin remote turbos to 400bhp  then buy another engine rebuild it with forged up rated everything and 6-700 Bhp by the time I get all that done I should be able to get a free bus pass so I will sell it

Hi Mat,
The mod to the column works really well, done mine a couple of months back, even thou it's a facelift model and not suffering from the usual sticky steering, it still had certain angles of steering lock where the steering felt light, sort of over assisted.
With nothing to lose after eliminating everything else I drilled and tapped the column fitted the nipple and gave it a couple of pumps of Krytox grease. Long story short I bet it has better steering feel know than the day it was made.

Reading various threads on other forums, the column was not completely redesigned for the facelift models, the ECU was flashed to give more current to the motor to overcome internal friction issues (Hence my light steering feel) and the assembly lube was changed - after 8 years that lube has probably dried out, Krytox being synthetic PTFE should last for donkeys. If you find yourself over MK way your more than welcome to a squirt or two of Krytox.

Stu

Thanks Stu when it's up and running fully!! I might pop over for so e lube  reassuring to hear that it works

Neil all I will say me and a friend have done quite a bit of research. Head scratching and calculating. The exhaust I have can be easily modded when the time comes. It will be bloody bonkers just deciding weather to have normal exhausts. Or them coming out of the quarter panels shooting flames

I would imagine it wont and that my car will only ever look good from a distance. If it ever gets the 400bhp i dream of that shouldn't be a problem!!

News on the diff. WOW it feels so much better. As said by other members pulling away with traction control on you see the light flash. But you dont get that loss of power as it cuts it out. The diff just seems to deal with it. Next step dct off and some sliding fun.

Had lots of driving over the weekend. Diff is just brilliant it comes out of corners so well. Turning out of junctions with everything turned on (traction control wise) there is none of the power being cut like before. And it slides well it slides instead of twitching
As for the exhaust it needs work!

That would be cool but Neil but I am not keen. I will probably have to have some bad ass lovers in the rear quarters for the air filters.

So I have finally got the control arms and track rod ends done. After doing a DIY tape measure alignment!! :o
The car feels loads better not as twitchy and the steering feel is loads better  it will be getting a proper alignment next week. I am making some beefy adjustable rear camber arms. Once they are made it will be getting set up.

I have also made up some clamps for the exhaust to stop it blowing. I am also making another centre section not sure if I will use it yet?? Hopefully sorting all the bits out Saturday.

Have had the traction control light the tyre warning light and another I can remember what now. It was intermittent it came on turn off the ignition off all clear. Now they are all on continuously  so I need to get to the bottom of that. But I think it's the censor I am sure I damaged it working on the diff.

But I did have to pop out and check to see if the traction control still worked. It didn't  god the new diff is amazing slides very well and controllable. And the back just pops round

I love it I love it a lot! Just need to have some drifting practice now

Another busy day at monkey towers. Did a exhaust mod for jarhead (what a guy  ) then replaced my camber arms for dome very chunky replacements. Had to lower the diff an inch or 2 remove the drive shafts PITA job but now done. I managed to also get the exhaust tips looking right.

So jobs for tomorrow CDV removal new gearbox oil. Fix the exhaust once and for all!! Do a nut and bolt check!! So it's ready for the alignment set up. So all being well the car will be ready for my first ever track day. I can't wait for it I have worked bloody hard to get my car to this point. I do hope I have a good day.
