Jingles White Z progress thread!! (PICTURE HEAVY)

Oh and seeing ur front wings de-badged in person has 100% convinced me to remove mine! I now have another job for tomorrow lol

ok guys slow progress but some progress has been made, 1st up was the charcoal filter being removed as it was pushing the inside edge of the wheel arch liner onto the inside edge of the wheel (when spacer was removed)

charcoal filter disconnected and then unbolted and removed:

pipes bunged up and jubilee clipped to stop anything getting into the fuel tank:

after removing charcoal filter i can remove the spacers and replace the worn wheel arch liner from rubbing

25mm spacers removed:

before and after stance:

and damage to wheel arch from rubbing: (new and old)

Are you leaving the spacers off now

for the time being yes, lowered -35mm on H&R springs with 25mm spacers = rubbing, ive been planning on getting some new wheels for ages now and once i get new wheels, depending on offsets ill get new spacers to suit and then sell the 25mm spacers i have removed

footwell LED light upgarde:

please ignore football boots/trackies as it was a quick job before football.
drivers side before:

drivers side after:

passengers without, drivers side with new LED lights:

both with new LED lights:

after a misfire on cylinder 4, swapped coil pack to cylinder 3 and error code moved with it so isolated the problem, quick trip to eurocarparts (in a different car) £20 later and i can replace the coilpack

finally got around to fitting the 1st aid boxes, sorry for poor iphone front facing camera photos:

passengers side before:

passengers side fitted:

drivers side before:

drivers side fitted:

had slight wind noise at high speeds so tilted drivers side window glass in a little bit, using these adjusters:

under door cover caps:

covers removed and bolt adjusted:

finally managed to get hold of a Z4M undertray!!

stuff ready to go:

jacked up and on axle stands:

fitted:

fitted from underneath:

due to not having a undertray for a while a lot of road grime has flicked up into the engine bay, quick clean up and spruce up. once new rocker cover is replaced will give engine bay a proper going over:

yea all the small jobs were mounting up and was a nice change to have some good weather to actually do stuff without getting wet or freezing!

plans for the week after work as its still light after work now thank god!

clean/treat roof (weather depending)
fit RPI scoop as its now sprayed red (and new plastic mounting part as mine is broken)
fit stud conversion

I could do with doing this. My passenger side has a lot of wind noise at 60mph!!

Left field question, but what are you putting your axel stands under on the front?

tbh i was gonna post another thread asking this, im not sure if where i put them are the safest place, i put it on the wishbone arm, not sure if its the best place or not but was only for 5-10 mins while i quickly done the fixing for the undertray up

EDIT:

here's a pic I took at the time, could somebody comment if this is a good or bad place so I know for next time?

open your door and look along the bottom edge, towards the rear of the door, theres 2 plastic covers, use a pry tool and just pop them out. then just undo the bolt and tilt your window in (careful not to do it too much otherwise u will put the glass under too much pressure when shut) and then once your happy with the angle tighten it up and carefully close door and double check you have a nice tight seal and once happy pop covers back on (if you have to adjust it a couple of times to get the correct angle/seal then do it, no point just accepting the 1st adjustment if its not right)

hope that helps :)

I don't think you're supposed to put jacks where you have, but I'd love for someone to tell me otherwise, as I'm looking for somewhere to put jacks, other than the two plastic jacking points either side behind the front wheels.
