It started with a ///M & ends with a ///M / 1yr & 6 x Z4s

So just how do you manage 6 Z4s in 1 year
It wasn't the agenda when the year started but that's how its played out
after a Zcoupe for a year then a 2.5 Se roady for 6 months it was time for the M experience
I had the silvergrey roady for 9 months & covered 6k miles ( all pleasure ) that in itself tells a story as my previous weekenders would normally cover 40-50 miles a week .

No1)Bought the ///M in April 2015 & had a blast with it , Scotland , Lake District , The Dales , Fylde coast , Peak District & countless hours spent in the Ribble Valley & Bowland Fells . The pinnacle though was the forum trip to Normandy Oct 2015 (where pics below were taken)

After the above jaunts i thought another year in the M would struggle to match it so decided id try a E89 , put the M up for sale late December & it sold January with no suitable 89 on the horizon so as a stopgap bought a black 3.0Si roadster with a steering fault

No2 ) Late January train down to South Wales with a 6hour drive back through Snowdonia to Lancs :driving:
The car had 95k covered with virtually zero options ( not even MFSW ) but paint was good & service record was full .
The steering issue resolved , car serviced + MOTd & wheels changed to 224s
Drove really well & covered a good few miles in the Trough of Bowland & Ribble valley but i had found a E89 so the car was sold within 7 weeks

No3) E89 23i , i wasn't too fussed on engine or spec as long as it had been looked after & came with sport seats
It was a 1 owner car on 123k with full dealer stamps , needed a INS2 service & other than a good clean +polish along with upgrade from 18s to 19s the car ran like a swiss watch
How it arrived on BBS 18s

how it left on 19s

i covered approx 4500 miles in 7 months including a Scotland jaunt & on 128k i was wary of going over 130k (only from potential sale point ) but even more wary of a forum trip to Normandy in October with 3 ///M cars & a Alpina :driving: i knew the 23i would struggle in the lanes for both handling & power so that with mileage concern drove me to put the car up for sale but only after id agreed to buy Paulgs1000s 3.0Si which i knew would serve me well on the France trip , the longterm plan at that point was a toe into a 35i or Is

No4) Stratus grey 3.0Si arrives early October & the paint is WoW , its a mesmerising finish of 3 colours in one & was a joy to clean polish & picture .
On 80k with no major issues , needed a service , MOT , windscreen but that done the car was a treat to own & leaves only good memories from a 3 day Snowdonia trip & 1500mile euro trip
It held its own amongst the more powerful 85s but left me knowing that a M would be the way forward & not the 35i :o

it arrived on 18s but left on 19s

So mind made up , return from France in November , Si up for sale & wait + watch for the right ///M roadster to come along
Anyhow the Stratus grey sold within 4hrs of it going online & no sign of a suitable M car i found myself agreeing a deal on a SiSport Zcoupe that i planned to run through the winter while i hunted for a M

No5) 80k E86 auto with great spec & history , wheels were shabby so they were refurbed & sold . Fancied a break from the norm so went with the Lenso ESG staggered 18s

Now those still following that are keeping count will know that's only 5 Zs
No6 has been nestled in my garage for a few weeks now , unfortunately SORNd until 1st March which seems a lifetime away right now .
Ive spent the time cleaning & polishing but cannot wait for next year to get some miles covered .
For now i'l run the coupe & sell that sometime Jan/Feb , then the M car needs a Ins service , front discs & a pair of rear tyres which will all be done before it hits the road in spring
To say i'm chuffed with it is a mega understatement  It will be cherished & enjoyed with a few roadtrips already planned :driving:

Anyhow here is Zno6

You disappoint me Mr Wilks.
There's still over a week left this year and you've thrown in the towel at six

Seriously. Congratulations on actually cracking on with it. I'm the same and just find so many advertised that i fancy buying and getting to grips with !

You wont find many more enthusiastic about Zeds than Mr Wilks

You certainly got a good eye for a Z4 ,they all look in tip top condition .The m does look a bit special in Red.

didn't realise it was an M when I saw it in the garage... Looks great with some polish!!

Haha , you need some basic Z lessons Steve , starting with colours  although even then it can get tricky with some available on M or non M but other colour's only available on Ms
In fact someone should start a thread for all Z models & their available colours

Wow, how many?! In only how long?!
An experienced eye to pick so many in great condition.

The new M is looking great with the aero skirts. Congratulations Mr W!

Not sure what to say?! :D Great that you get out and use them, think you started and finished in the right way too. No trackdays though? :driving:

Cracking write up Andy and looks like you've finished the year with a proper car in a proper colour  I'll take cover now! congratulations!! :driving:

What an energetic year you've had Andy it's been a struggle to keep up but the latest looks a real stunner and a test in your patience to garage over the winter.
You must be looking forward to spring more than most
