Is this the lowest mileage Garage Queen for sale?

Does not get much more shiny than red so hopefully you will be satisfied for a while :D

Nice one.

I can just feel the Alpina owners sucking their breath in now :D

Not really, EVO did a group test of Tuscan/Boxter/Alpina/Z4MR in 2006, and gave the nod to the M over the Alpina - but the differences that they point out aren't really things you'd notice in normal driving. Having tried both, I think that there is very little to choose between them, I came down on the side of the looks, rarity and the bespoke feel of the Alpina, others will prefer the M for exactly the same reasons - they are both very special cars and it's a nice choice to have

Thinks its redic they wont insure you with a strut brace... surely most performance cars have them.

My insurance quote was £200 more with a tracker. I have one installed just haven't activate it as it would have cost even more...

Congratulations Stuart, bet you're thrilled to bits!!!

CSL's next ! :D

Great news that Stuart....

I cant wait to hear what your thought of the M versus Alpina ?

I already have an M but im well jell as the youth say !

So thoughts on the car. Let's get past the starry eyed bit. WOW! The car is like new. It had a couple of minor stone chips that will be sorted prior to delivery. It's lived in a climate controlled garage with its previous owner's cars. The M5 they bought from the same person was also there and is in similar condition with stupid low miles. Apparently the cars were kept in those vacuum bags and I can well believe it.

Comparing it to the Alpina, well they are very different cars indeed. The Alpinas power delivery is smooth and progressive, you ride on an increasing wave of torque accompanied by a throaty roar that just gets better as you press the loud pedal. The M has this zingy rasp and the power delivery is near instant. It's quite brutal compared to #69! The engine in the M sounds like a precision engineered machine whereas the Alpina sounds more like a muscle car or that's how I'm describing it :D

The steering is chalk and cheese. The M is hydraulic and I was surprised how different it is, the M steering is much heavier. Around town I reckon the Alpina would be easier to live with as the steering is lighter.

In all honesty, they are different tools for different jobs. If I had the space and no other commitments, I'd have bought this M and kept #69. As it is I don't have the space and I can't justify two expensive toys.

Anyway, here's a few pics, taken with the iPhone and late afternoon so the light wasn't brilliant. And for the eagle eyed, yes, the indicators are slightly misted. It was noted.

In the flesh, the spoiler is lovely, I'm keeping it

The interior is just like new, there's not a mark on anything and the leather is still matt.

The heart of the beast. No cleaning required...

And I still can't quite get over this... :)

Anyway, it'll either be delivered FOC or I can collect it next weekend...

When I asked Sytner the difference between an ///M and Alpina they said, " the Alpina's a cricketer and the ///M is a Rugby player

They remembered you turning up to look at the car and having your photo taken with it :D

That car is incredible - I'm really pleased you went and bought it, you'd never have forgiven yourself if you'd passed it up.

Darren, noted

Beauty, well worth the money. Almost new car for 30% of the cost ...

Is it a daily driver for you or a high days car? Congrats on purchase. So who was the previous owner why is mileage so low?

welcome to the Imola minters club..... mine is old, i've double the mileage of yours at a lofty 13k... LOL

Are you going to be using this as a daily driver or is it a high days and holidays car?

Thanks! It's a high days and holidays car. I can't believe if I do the Neubergring/German trip I'll put almost 33% extra mileage on it. I hope I'm not going to turn into one of these people that won't drive it because they're worried about putting miles on the clock... Nah, not gonna happen :D :driving:
