Wasn't there the whole discussion where fitting a tracker increased the premium for some twisted reason?

There was, but this isn't an option with Direct Line. Have one fitted or go elsewhere. Direct Line undercut Flux and Admiral, neither of whom required a Tracker, so all good.

You should try Classicline now. No need for a Tracker.

I nearly suggested that myself. Think i will be going back to them next year.

Esure were best for me. No tracker reqd. Perfect. I hate trackers. if my car gets nicked I never want to see it again

It's not the tracker that bothers me, they're a sensible idea and the new model looks quite cool as you can track where you've been, put a perimeter around the cars location if you're away so if its stolen with keys it will still trip the alert etc.

What's really annoyed me is the strut brace

I might ring around and see if cancellation and admin fees are worth the pita it rapidly becomes

If you said to them that you're buying the car and there is a strut brace already fitted (which there may be, as it may have been ordered with one), and they say that they won't insure the car, it's become their choice to cancel the policy and they should refund without cancellation and admin fees. That's what happened with me when I got the RS, LV= wouldn't insure the car so they refunded pro-rata without charges.

Good luck with today's test drive - hope the weather 'oop norf' is better than it is down here on the coast

That's what I was thinking. If it's got one, the car is not modified. I'll have to get a letter from Sytner stating the car is ex-factory, no options fitted and that the car was supplied with it and see what happens.

Anyway, off up there mid afternoon. Sky is grey, snow forecast.... :?

Someone's just posted a want ad for an MR but says anything considered and ready to buy quickly, so it might be worth pointing him towards #69 as something to consider - I thought about doing it, but she's your car

Maybe after the test drive. With what they've offered me going private isn't going to net me any more than I'll get on trade in then I have to start haggling all over again. That's a PITA when all the curious test pilots turn up. I'm hoping I can do the deal today and collect next weekend on my return from Dubai

Good luck. Not snowing here in brum so hopefully cov not too bad.... look forward to your report! :)

well congrats on the potential purchase....

fingers crossed it all works out for you, looks like a great car

And the deed is done. Just going to pay for it then head for home. I took a couple more pics. The car is like new. I'll post my Alpina vs M thoughts plus pics a bit later. Collect next weekend!

Nice one.

I can just feel the Alpina owners sucking their breath in now :D

welcome to the Imola minters club..... mine is old, i've double the mileage of yours at a lofty 13k... LOL

Are you going to be using this as a daily driver or is it a high days and holidays car?
