Hydro dipping engine bay parts

Nicely done! Yes hydrodipping is very expensive, I remember getting some relatively small trim bits from my VX220 done and costing £150 :o

Always good to learn a new skill. As I understand it looking into this, its all about the prep.

Basically it was a carbon type pattern and they were not very careful in making sure the pattern was straight. They sent pics of the work and just from the pics I could see that grey could be better. Some of it was very wavy and looked rushed. The finishing was superb though very glossy and shiny once it was done right.
No extra charge, in fact I got it done cheaper as I had to fix the dash panels as they had pulled them apart to coat them and then just silicone them back together.
I wouldn't have recommended them.

Carbon will have a bit of a drift in the pattern also , but not pissed as a fart 😂
 
I got some bits done on the bike about 18 months ago, sent them down to a guy in England who did a cracking job.

Rest of it is so good it makes the bog-standard bits stand out like the dog's danglies. :wink:

For you 2 dogs, I went down the same road as you, looked into it and the price scared me off. When you open the books up stick my name down for a few bits. Rocker cover etc.

. You CAN get your own design made up … most people just buy off the shelf . I’ve seen bespoke ( your design) from around £25 per meter
