My grans ashes wouldn't be happy about anyone trivialising the flu either.
Both are pretty serious when your health has declined.

People die in all kinds of ways. It doesn't mean you can't joke about it. People get killed in car accidents all the time but we still talk about driving for fun and even joke about the occasional off. Stairs kill lots of old people but it doesn't mean you can't make a joke about falling down them.
This forum section in particular has plenty of Saville jokes but nobody pops up to say "how dare you" because their cousins got touched up.
Oh really, that’s very kind of you, though are you sure about my grammar, both are acceptable, though Intransigence is the unwillingness to change one’s view or agree and that seems more appropriate here.Chris_D said:I think you meant 'intransigent nature'. But it's ok, we can forgive poor grammatical errors.
No, I think you will find 'intransigence nature' is definitely not acceptable as good grammar as used by you.sars said:[ref]Chris_D[/ref],Oh really, that’s very kind of you, though are you sure about my grammar, both are acceptable, though Intransigence is the unwillingness to change one’s view or agree and that seems more appropriate here.Chris_D said:I think you meant 'intransigent nature'. You on the sauce or the wacky baccy tonight then Chris? I like the way you become more belligerent the later it gets (and you are an hour ahead)Chris_D said:No, I think you will find 'intransigence nature' is definitely not acceptable as good grammar as used by you.
I'm simply an arbiter and appreciative of the correct usage of English grammar. Something I find distinctly lacking sometimes in this forum.Pondrew said:You on the sauce or the wacky baccy tonight then Chris? 'snipey old lady' is a description that springs to mind if I'm reminded of either of you.Pondrew said:I could think of others young ladysars said:Belligerent, that’s a fantastic word to describe Chris_D,![]()
sp3ctre said:To be honest I'm starting to get a bit sick of the one-upmanship going on around Covid, particularly on this forum. It seems like on a weekly basis we get yet another Covid topic just designed to wind people up (e.g. this topic title). I am sorely tempted to ban Covid topics at this rate... I have never banned a topic since this forum has been around (2007!), but this may be the first time.

Why? There has (so far) been no arguments; only Chris D trying to wind everyone up which is par for the course and hasn't worked (again).B21 said:Please please please

Ian J said:I'm sure that I've posted this already but my wife is a nurse and the staff in her hospital were all told to stick covid down on the death certificate no matter what the reason for death as long as there was a positive test in the previous 29 days.
She had a 94 year old patient with terminal heart disease turn up to die but unfortunately he contracted covid whilst in the hospital so that was another statistic for the books
