Agree it got a bit of a Pee take after he left, but spittin the dummy out coz someone dared to offer their true opinion falls under Deserves it umbrella.

No Exdos, as I said earlier it wasn't aimed at one person. I've just picked up a few instances of this in recent days and each time I read it I wince to myself.

In your particular case I've no doubt at all it was meant as humour and not intended as bullying. You are an articulate and valued contributor, but when you don't know the background as to why someone might make a mistake it can leave a nasty taste in the mouth.

Yes I know people use poor grammar but a) there might be a valid reason; b) there is a time and a place to do it and that's not on an Internet forum about cars; c) we are united on here by a love of our cars and we arrived here from very different backgrounds and situations.

It really does say a lot more about the poster if they resort to that than the person being corrected. I can think of only a couple of examples where it might be appropriate - a) if a post is so constructed as to be totally unintelligible - like the posts from the gentlemen who keeps trying to sell us nice evening dresses or b) if it's an obvious typo which everyone can laugh about.

I consider it bad form to post a negative comment about either a typo or spelling error and when I see that happening I will send the individual a PM. I really don't see it happening that much here but if anyone is subject to such abuse here let me or one of the other mods know by reporting the post.

Now, those wonderful post made while under the influence is another matter... :evil:
