FS: Z4MC in Ruby Black & Champagne - £18,499 ONO (new pics)

Well, it's getting cheaper every month, but this might be the last reduction before I decide to keep it.

The price has been reduced because I've decided not to spend the £500 I was going to on a 2 day detail (mainly due to not having the time now that work has picked up - but am still going to be broke for a few months until the invoices start being paid) - although it will now have it's oil service & air-con refresh.

Unfortunately the car won't be used much for the next few weeks as I'm being forced to use public transport to get to Central London, but the client is paying for the tickets on their own account so that helps my cashflow a little

i was offer £14000 trade in on my 3.0is 07 17000 miles but got 16850 on we will buy your car :o whats going on with the dealer...

Have you actually been into WBAC with the car though? I can guarantee that they'll eventually offer you nowhere near the original valuation. I got quoted £9800 for my 330ci. When I went to the depot, they proceeded to point out EVERY flaw down to a service stamp undated in the service booklet and scratches to the interior trim.

They reduced their valuation to £7950. This is common occurrence, apparently a 26% reduction is average with less than 20% being frowned upon by management.

Just as a point i used "we will buy your car" NOT "we buy any car" there was over 2K price difference, the offer that
was on the web is what i was pay and "we will buy your car" came to my house to pick up the car, money
in the bank in about 15 mins  Topmarks all round :)

Just for fun, I tried the WWBYC site and got a quote of £16,040, which compares well to the WBAC quote I got of £15,100 - although I assume WBAC will reduce that offer when you take it to them.

Strangely, when I went to the WBAC website it said I'd asked for a valuation 8 days ago, and did I want to retrieve it. Strange, as I've not done one since January.

Umm bit worrying! Only thing with having your plates displayed, as I take it anyone can get a quote on your Reg?

I suppose so, but if they assume that the price offered on those type of sites it a retail price then they'll have a shock if they limit their search to those prices :P

Right, as I said in a post a while ago, I was thinking of doing a stunt to see whether it's the price that's keeping the car from selling, or just the slow market. So I've decided to give it one more month up for sale, or keep it.

But as a do or die gesture, I'm going to give it away at a bargain, final reduction, never to be repeated, you snooze you lose price of £19999 - NO OFFERS!

The car may have it's next oil service done before sale or it may not - it's entirely dependent on whether my local dealers actually want the work and decide to phone me back. Either way the price will stay the same, as this is now 10% less than I put it up for just over a month ago. I'm also not going to bother doing the 2 day detail, nor am I going to get the scratch on one alloy wheel touched up as I haven't got the time to have the car off the road for a day (unless I can find a decent mobile one to do it while I wait on either a weekend or when I happen to be working from home).

If this doesn't generate some interest then I'll keep it, as there's no way I can stomach selling it below this price and I might as well use it. This was my bottom price all along, and I would have happily negotiated with anyone who actually came to see it.

I'l' be changing all my ads over the bank holiday weekend, so there may be some adverts with the old price, but so be it.

Few Z4MC have been up for sale here for weeks. It's like people bought Z4MR instead becaue roadsters were cheaper. I prefer Z4MC though.

I would have though the Z4MR would be more expensive no? Would love to go in a coupe to see what all the fuss is about :D

The trend seems to be that the coupe is more expensive throughout the year, but the roadster prices pick up towards summer.

I guess it's only due to the fact that the coupe is seen - rightly or wrongly - as more of a year round proposition.

In my case the coupe was the only option as I can't stand the sun and would never have had the roof down anyway.

Just a quick note to say I've just had the scheduled oil service and air con regass/refresh.

Display currently showing 15,000 to next service.

Tony

I'm surprised to see this hasn't sold yet. It is a great car.

I ended up selling for £500 less than I really wanted, but tax and Insp 1 was due. I miss the Z4M but my mortgage is down to £350 a month as a result of selling so I get cheered up again when I see I am saving £150 a month on interest.

£500 on a 20-odd k car is not a lot though. Did you sell to dealer / private?

Well, business has picked up - for now, but I'm going to leave it up for sale - as I know the next dip in business might be just around the corner and I'm not going to turn away the chance to make some money on selling the car when I'm using the train to get to work at the moment.

I'll miss it at the weekends and when I'm not working, but I can always pick up another when I'm sure of a good few months work.

I'd probably would take £500 less than it's up for, but I'm not even getting calls about it - never mind viewings - and I'm not dropping the advertised price any further as it's just had an oil service & air-con refresh.

Despite me saying work had picked up, I'm still not getting much money in due to clients deciding it's in their interest to take 3-6 months to pay their invoices (legal action not my preference as I still want work from them).

So, I've taken the price down to £19,499, put 6 months tax on it and am in the process of renewing the BMW warranty. If anyone wants to make me a quick offer before the new BMW warranty comes into force (7 day cooling off period) then let me know, and I'm sure I can negotiate something off this price to take into account the fact that I won't have to spend another £950 on the warranty.

Did you actually agree such credit terms with your clients? Or did they change their mind to pay you few months late after you provided the service?

Well, the terms in their contract states 'within 45 days' from invoice, my T&Cs state 'within 28 days'.

However, their contracts department has screwed up a few times and not passed on the correct information to their accounts department, which has meant the Purchase Order number I need for their electronic invoicing system (which is new for this year) was not issued as quickly as it should have, which meant I couldn't invoice as soon as I'd have liked.

The argument is around whether this delay should be included in the 28-45 day payment window or not - my view is that it should as it was not me that caused the delay, but their view is that the terms of both parties don't make any mention of exceptions to this payment window in the event of delays. Although to make it even worse, I've got 3 outstanding invoices with them and now they're claiming that the purchase order numbers are incorrect and they'll get back to me once they've investigated.

If it was a client that I haven't had plenty of work from already (without issue, and without this new invoice system), and that I didn't want to work with again, then it'd be a simpler solution involving a legal-sounding letter. But it's getting very close to Christmas now and work normally dries up in December (even when there was no recession), so I'd like some cash to carry me over until the New Year when things traditionally pick up.
