Good luck with your sale T
You too!

There's enough buyers, and so few of these that I can't see why some don't sell as quickly as others - it could be the area, in which case I might be stuffed being in Liverpool, but it's advertised nationally so hopefully I won't have to stare at it out of the window for too long.

I'm sure you'll sell it, I've withdrawn mine from sale as I need it at the mo, plus I don't really want to sell anyway. Just be seen to be having a go at flogging it to keep her indoors happy really :D

...to say it looks like work is picking up (at least for the rest of the year), but I've decided to leave the car up for sale in the meantime and see what response I get.

Looks like it will be back to the 500 mile round trips again though, so the mileage is going to be about 45,000 by the end of the year unless I get a motorway slag for the commute.

Dang, steering wheel is on the wrong side........ :driving:

Good luck on the sale and on the job front.

Good to see work has pick up and you get to keep the Z

I hope I do get to keep it, but I've more or less resigned myself to letting it go, as I know there'll be about 8 weeks of really tight finances before I get any pay/expenses, so that's one of the reasons I'm leaving it up for sale (and maybe open to cheeky offers), as it'll give me a good float for the first few months of a new job.

:headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Client has just phoned to tell me the project has been postponed indefinitely due to confusion over which party's budget is paying for the training documentation I'm doing (and the bigger cost of the training company).

Until they sort this out they're not finalising the contract with me or with the training company.

So, car is still (still) up for sale, I'm open to reasonable, less reasonable and downright cheeky offers :(

I'll even reduce my 'starting price' to £21500 ono (will reflect this on other adverts at the end of the week).

Very nasty stuff. Been through that cycle a few times over the last month with preparing huge tenders, spending days on it, then to be told that nobody has funds to actually do the project.

Bad manners to engage someone and then let them down, should get the finances sorted out first.

still looks a bit toppy to me for that mileage and age :| JMI
What sort of price would you consider fair for a 3.5 year old car with 35,000 miles (with an engine that's only done 12,000 miles), with individual paint, individual extended leather and almost every option (including sat-nav for those who deem it essential), plus a fully comp, no excess BMW Insured warranty :P

Prices on the internet are only what they car is advertised for, not what they sell for, so there always has to be some room for manouevre.

As I said, I'm open to offers/negotiation, but I did price it along the lines of every other Z4MC I could find on the internet, adding value where I have options that other's haven't and removing value based on age & mileage.

mmm-five, I was only basing this on what I have seen out there, that's all.
No dig intended.
your is a great M :driving:

No offence taken, I was simply asking you (as a buyer) what sort of prices you'd seen for similar spec, as my prices are at least a month out of date from when I last looked.

Only you (or any buyer) really knows what any specific car is worth to them, and whilst I might believe mine is great I have no yardstick to measure it by except for going around and looking at other Z4MCs for sale, which I'm sure would not endear me to other sellers :P

mmm-five im really sorry to hear these work troubles, you are not the only one believe me,my businesses seem to be losing money all over the place, ive recently closed one of my biggest offices and merged it with another in an attempt to consolidate, unfortunatly my gtr became victim also and i moved it on to help ease the situation( which it did help), luckily its still in the family and luckily things are work are.......... ok. Head above water really, really wishing you all the best and good luck with the sale of the car, the money from it will really help you, cars come and go but your house and family are much more important. good luck mate. :| :| :| :| :|

As promised further down the thread, I've reduced the price by £500.

Now £21,495 ono

The car will also be available at at least £250 less than that if it's sold before I need (or am forced) to get the next oil service done.

i see it not on PH anymore?
Only while their tech department work out why it's not letting me edit & resubmit the advert (it expired yesterday) - something to do with using the '£' and/or '&' characters - which is strange as it let me edit enough times when I originally submitted it.

Looking on the internet at prices gives you a half an idea what a Z4M C is worth, but you don't get to see the condition until you roll up and have a look. Buyers tend to look at the cheapest cars and assume all cars with similar mileage/age are worth the same, this isn’t the case.

This doesn't allow for the condition and as you've found out for yourself, cheaper cars are sometimes cheap for a reason.

In my experience the best cars are owned by an enthusiasts or at a main dealers, but you might end paying the upper end of the price range for a car in better condition than a ropey non-specialist dealer.

Regarding T’s car, I think the current price is about right, as I’ve seen it and had a good look round it. Not many people are buying cars at the moment, certainly not £20K and over 2 seater coupes; I have spoke to a few dealers recently and they have all said the market is dead at the moment.

i was offer £14000 trade in on my 3.0is 07 17000 miles but got 16850 on we will buy your car :o whats going on with the dealer...

mmm_five's car is worth that all day long and his knowledge and obvious enthusiasm for the car initimates it has been well looked ater.

Pistonheads and Autotrader can be used as a barometer for car values but until you get your arse off your seat and actually go and look at a car do you realise how two cars priced equally are not equal at all.

There are a couple of maindealer cars (naming no names) that have been available since I was looking (April) that are still not sold. Tells you something really.
