First experiences of the M

Thats a lovely E30 mate. I would love one like that.

I have a 2nd set of Z4m wheels if you want to make an offer at some point. I bought CSLs and have these in storage. If I dont sell them I will put them back on the car if I ever sell it. The CSLs are a good investment as they will always be worth something.

I hope you paid at least £1500 without tyres for your CSL's, that's what they cost you know!

Sorry, couldn't resist but then I'm only on my 30's.

I actually was very lucky and got a got deal on mine, however, they were in a terrble state so had to be refurbed.

£1500+ for genuine CSL's - never mind the tyres. This car is absloutely wasted on you & your "mates" on pistonheads. You haven't got a clue about maintaing cars & certainly don't deserve to own an ///M car.

I have been watching/reading this forum for 12 months & have wet my trousers reading the ridiculous questions posed by "enthusiasts!".

I have come to the conclusion (at 53 years old) that the idiots buying Z4M's are in their 20/30's & spend all day - at the cost to their employer - on the BMW forums.

If I was your employer I would sack you immediatly!

Get a life you lot. Go and serve in Helmand, Iraq etc & see what only 2 days does to your life. You have NO IDEA how lucky you are. BETTER people than you are putting down their live's daily under constant mortar/sniper attack.

Think about it in your cosy s**t holes, ripping Joe Public off for your pathetic bonuse's.

So at 47 years of age, I can buy my Z4MC in Dec or Jan to go with my non-M roadster and then I have to sell it when I reach 50 and then go back to driving my Honda Accord or Pickup Truck because I am just "too old" to drive a fine car like a Z4M, let alone BUY one?

If you keep "wetting your trousers" maybe you need to pick up some "Depends" (old persons diapers). That might help with your physical problem. I cannot help you will your anger issues.

Wondermike, don't lock this tread. I am greatly amused and also laughing, but I am not wetting my pants.....

ShittingBull your posts do make me chuckle sometimes, why are you so bitter?

I was going to lock this thread but seeing as Darren M and anyone else reading is unlikely to be offended by your drivel I thought it may be better keeping it open.

LOL, he's been on here for 12 months and only posted 7 times.... and apparently he has wet his trousers... poor guy

I think Mike/sittingbull's posts are great - I read them on pistonheads regularly for amusement, whilst doing nothing but surfing the net all day, earning huge bonuses and buying cars that I don't understand how to service or drive properly, and that I don't deserve......

hopefully he will be back soon when he needs his next feed of twisted bitterness and resentment :poke:

I don't actually understand Sitting Bull's post. Can someone explain what he's getting at?

LOL

1. jealous much ?

2. Ever heard of a lunch break?

Maybe you should move to Australia, where only the rich can afford to buy ///M cars. Would that make you feel better?

And just to make you wet your pants even more, I'm a GIRL driving an ///M.

You should all leave SittingBull alone :chairfight: , after all he only allowed 5 minutes out of the padded cell each month and there's always a queue for the BBC Micro & 1200 baud modem :sos:

Sittingbull-s**t!!!! OMG what a complete tosser!!!! I dont have a "M" but have recently had an E46 M3. And i dont think the "M" drivers are idiots. As for the expense..."M" owners go into owning these cars knowing its not a cheap car to own but beacuase they are "enthusiasts" they accept the costs because thats what enthusiasts do!!!! I have what is considered to be one of the most dangerous jobs in the world ( i work on oil rigs as a Radiation protection supervior and a confined space / vessle entry supervisor ) and if i want to sit at a pc while im here...i will do. Mind your own business "Shittingbull", get a life and stop being such an arse to people on here for enjoying and wanting to talk about their cars to other people with the same intrests. If i sold my Z i would still look in on this forum because the guys on here are FRIENDLY, HELPFULL and generally GOOD GUYS!!!

Hi all - Shittingbull here- . A hilarious reaction to my post. Lets just put some normality back. After running some 95 performance cars since 1973 - including TOTAL rebuilds of various TVR's, Lotus's & Triumph TR6's (Hardly a performance car & a disaster to drive - like a speed boat..) I have to say that the Z4MR is one of those rare cars that offers ENORMOUS performance for your money. De-Limit it - as I have done- & you get 174mph. Drive it "normally" & you get 27mpg. I pay £330 pa fully comprehensive insurance - but a ridiculous £405 pa UK Road Tax.

You won't get better than a Z4MR or Coupe. 0-60 in 4.8 seconds, 0-100 in 11 seconds. Just remove the stupid CDV to enjoy the car!!

I speak from my padded cell in Kandahar AFB MMMFive - but I have a Barrets 0.5 & a Smith's 0.5 sniper team to look after me.

Look after the poor sods like me. The corrupt British Government refuse to look after my 2500 men...

Ah, Mike - i missed your posts when Pistonheads banned you (repeatedly). Welcome to z4-forum, home of junior traders and other financial services staff. You may have missed the criteria for joining this site.

1) You must be under 50
2) You must be anti-war
3) You must receive a quarterly bonus from your employer, paid directly from the taxpayer
4) You must want to pimp your ride
5) You must have CSL alloys or at least a lust for them
6) You must read this forum for a minimum of 6 hours per day during normal 9-5 working hours
7) You must be employed and therefore costing your company money in wasted time
8) You must never attempt any form of car maintenance
9) You must send your car to the main dealer at the drop of a hat
10) Finally, you must and i mean must, live in a cosy sh$65ole

If you do not adhere to these criteria, BMW and the z4-forum have the right to visit you at your home and remove your M car forceably. Come to think of it, i've never seen a post with a picture of your car. Is it real? Have you imagined it in your little padded cell? Do you also spend time on the Porsche/TVR/Ferrari forums, writing abot your other imaginary cars?

Remember to take your medication, you know what happens when you don't.

Hmmm something's up, I didn't spot any sarcasm there.

Despite the ridiculous post before, Im on your side about government not looking after, makes me cringe every time I hear someone else is lost as I have friends out there too, there's been far too many in the last few weeks.

( btw.. I bought my M at 27 and I'm self employed, or I probably would sack myself )

I'm 39, self-employed and most of my work is deliverable-based - i.e. I agree an fee and a timescale at the beginning and get paid once that deliverable has been signed off (or sometimes at agreed stages if the deliverable is some way off).

If I choose to work for 4 clients at once and spend some of my time on the internet, then it just means I have to spend some of my internet time on client work. The amount of work I do won't change it'll just be 'time-shifted' - and I've never failed to meet a target, and never had any need to 're-baseline' any target either, nor have I ever tried to wriggle out of a contract.

If I don't work, I don't get paid. I don't get sick pay, I don't get holiday pay, I don't get paid 'family' days, I don't get my pension paid for, I don't get my health insurance paid for, I don't get my public/employer/professional liability insurance paid for. It all comes out of my fees.

I'm not technically adept enough to do anything other than minor repairs & servicing on my cars (well did do a head gasket on a VW Polo once), and don't trust the dealers, so pay a trusted independent & ///M specialist to do mine for me.

Mike/Sittingbull,

I have a serious question regarding your CDV removal. Are you willing to help? I just wanted more details from you on how it affects the 1st to 2nd change at high rpm I remember you saying you even had crunches on PH. Is that true?

PS - I am not a city banker

Phew - busy morning on the trading floor, I've hardly had a chance to get on the internet. Never mind, should be another bumper bonus year

Being serious now, I'm actually warming to Mike. He has been here for a while in his many guises (SittingBull, Dragonsbreath, mikeypikey999, Stealthyman, Z4MPuss, Banus333 - did I miss anyone?) and he has been toasted every time, but he does keep coming back so there must be something about the place he likes.

Maybe this time it will be different Mike?

Yes I am willing. Jack your car up on the passenger front side & put a couple of bricks under the front wheel. Slide under the ZM & you will see a small panel with 4 screws on the plastic undertray. Take the panel off & you will see the Clutch Slave Cylinder. Use a pair of "Mole Grips" to clamp the rubber pipe solidly. Then use two (2) spanners (I can't remember if they are 15mm or 17mm) to disconnect the silly little CDV valve - & remove it. The connection on the flexible pipe will screw directly back into the clutch slave cylinder. Tighten it up, let the car down off the jack & you don't even have to bleed the system. And YES. it makes one hell of a difference to being able to make smooth 1/2nd gearchanges.

Added a couple of clean engine pics now also, before it gets dirty
