First experiences of the M

I get less than that in my Si! You must be taking it very easy Darren!

I'm getting 28.2mpg, and that's with quite a lot of motorway @ 70mph!

I've never got more than 28mpg when I went to france and mostly use autoroutes and drove at around 75-80mph. generally get around 21mpg. about 200-220miles per tank(about 53lts). Cant see getting anywhere close to what darren is getting.

Can't see the tiny bit of extra weight making that much difference! He's just taking it very easy I reckon!

Just got back from the weekend. When I arrived in Devon it was still averaging 29.4 MPG but after pottering around town(in a few jams) and then back to work some 180miles this morning, it`s now down to 28.5mpg at the moment. Got a bad feeling about a mobile unit I passed however - ooops. Someone flashed their lights on the other side of the road but being half asleep I assumed they were flashing to let someone out rather than to give a warning. I don`t think I was far over especially if reading took after I hit the brakes.....

My previous Z4MR was getting better gas mileage than my current Z4MC by about 1~2mpg. Both cars should weigh about the same too since I had the hardtop on my MR. I used to get 28~29mpg during my Seattle-Vancouver trips, but now only get 25~26mpg.

All other time though, the Z4MC does provoke me to drive faster / accelerate quicker than my Z4MR did. :D

Unfortunately I need to have a small paint job done on the drivers side of the rear bumper - someone has already damaged the car for me, no idea who. Probably happened in a carpark either at work or at a shopping centre or one of the neighbours at my parents place down in Devon. It`s lots of small white little scratches but with what looks like tar also - arrrgghhhhhh. I noticed it while washing the car :(

I've got a similar one :(. Same thing, looks like someone rubbed against it while pulling out of the spot next to me from cutting the wheel to soon as they backed out.

I reset mine whilst in a queue last week and it dropped to 7.4 just idling. It had been running for Bout 15.
Mins so reasonably warmed up.

Went to a wedding in Herefordshire on the weekend and over 180 miles averaged just over 28 mpg though a lot of that was motorway.

Hope u get the scratch sorted ok

Yep, really annoying especially as I`ve only just got the car
Scratches not sorted yet. I live out in the sticks and work in the sticks also. The ONLY bodyshop I trust is out in a different area of the sticks (I`m not a farmer honest), so will probably have to get it done in Sept when I can get my car to them for a day or so.

From the picture I can not see it properly, but you sure it is damage from a car rather then the *** roads in Devon with their bushes sticking out all over the place?

I thought about that but it`s the drivers side of the car and I haven`t parked or driven the right side of the car near bushes. I had to park on a corner last week (no other option) so that`s when I now think it occured, someone cut the corner down a tight lane and rubbed the car (possible with a trailer full of bushes). I`m parked there again today - noooooo. I dunno, just speculating but it`s damn annoying. There are tar looking spots also so maybe from gravel. I can get it done by dealing direct with a BMW approved bodyshop minus BMW`s commission so shouldn`t be expensive to sort.

Think I`ve found the name of the company that provided the car cleaning products - Monza. However, they are just a retailer for Zymol and Meguiars so gawd knows which one of those two has the lovely spelling interior stuff. I think they sell both in Halfords? Might have to open a few products to have a good sniff
