I was going to get mine refurbed last year, couldn't decided on whether to have a colour change or not. Anyway when you weigh up the cost of the refurb (I reckon I could get them done for £60 per corner ) wouldn't it be more cost effective to sell the 326's and add a few pennies to the budget then pick up a new set of aftermarket wheels... something without 326's reputation to crack?

I was quoted about £90 per wheel + £50 welding. i.e. £460 (four refurbed + 2 welded) although they did then talk about some discount if I did all that. I am still contemplating this because when I add in the price of 2 rear tyres too, its getting quite expensive...and I worry that the wheels will crack again - making them worthless.
I think I read somewhere (or was it a dream?) that the 326's on the later cars were "beefed up" a bit so they are not so prone to cracking. There was a lawsuit in USA against BMW. I dunno if that is true or not.

If they beefed them up then they made a lousy job of it, mines an lci car and they were still made of eggshells
Rob
That's coz you is a sh*t driver from Essex. :poke:

Us Essex have to....ahem..stick together...... :D. Right gotta go out - essential journey.

Fair bit of input in a short space of time, many thanks.

Quite liking the look of the M4 wheels and the 343M style on an E89 :P

Previously 20" Veeman VFS8 (245 30 20 & 285 25 20)
Currently genuine M4 wheels (255 35 19 & 276 35 19) need to change the tyre sizes realistically...

I actually had 108's on mine (they came with the car when I bought it as well as the standard wheels and actually liked how they looked).
I've since sold the car though. Changed for a Mini JCW of all things but such a fun little car.

Had my 326s resprayed in anthracite at the dealer who sold to me. Love them (and no scratches/cracks so far, touch wood...)
