E89 Market watch

Looks half decent spec there for a 60k 3.0i at £11k ask , assume you twist their arm to £10k id say you had a decent 89 at very reasonable money  it has heated sport seats & nav which are both desired options , its a great colour combo ( same as the one i had  )
Id wager the split rims are shot though so allow either for big money refurb ( £350/£400) or sell & replace

Looks nice, fair spec with sports seats and desirable nav as Andy says, no cruise that it mentions and AFAIK you can't retro fit it but if it's not essential then it doesn't really matter, parking sensors can be added so it looks a good car. If there's no hurry then hanging on for a better spec will bear fruit eventually if that's what you're after.

Thanks for the comments gents, I'm starting to think it ticks enough boxes to warrant a closer look........might just have to check train times.

Patience has never been a strong point

I've noticed prices seem to be steady for the E89 if not rising slightly? I this partly due to the negative press with the dreaded dervs?

Gumtree car: I saw this also, and tried asking a few basic (not price-related) questions about it but was met with a rather 'short' response, so lost interest immediately. Seller not keen to say anything apart from what was on the advert, but someone else may do better than me if they tread very carefully, and it mightn't necessarily be a bad deal if a few more necessary details can be extracted...

Exactly my experience. We emailed back and forth a few times and even got as far as talking about travelling up to see it (was a bit of a trek), but the barebones responses irritated me a little. I reckon it's a genuine car but the seller did a poor job of promoting it.

I ended up giving it a miss, added an extra £1k to her asking price and found a really nice 35i instead

Woa - £12k for a good 35i sounds excellent. What year / mileage is it, as a matter of interest? Auto or manual?

It's an '09 DCT with 74k. The mileage isn't an issue for me as it's a weekend car (previous E85 did less than 4k in 15 months!). Seems to have all of the toys, and also has the pure white design interior so a nice contrast with the blue exterior.

Needs a little TLC but how about:

If its bang for bucks & mileage doesn't worry you how about a 59 plate , grey / black trim , navspecced , sport seated manual 35i on 92k for a ask of just £10k :o on 296s too :) compare this with a similar year / mile / performance 911 or Boxster & they really are a performance car bargain imo

Silver E89 3.0i
Highly specced 6 cyl na car that longer term should prove a troublefree experience :?
Ok its on 92k but seller asking £10500 & doubt right now he will be overwhelmed with interest  wheels don't do it for me but they're a easy switch ( + you get rid of the peasant spec Kinforest rubber  )

Get closer to £9k & that's a nice example that will look & drive twice the money :driving: don't be put off with the mileage , ive owned a 128k 6 cyl E89 & it showed zero sign of the odometer reading anywhere at all

wow thats nice (minus those hideous wheels) makes you wonder if you REALLY want a 3.0i SI coupe for that money :S

Totally different motors J but yeah i agree , put side by side with a E86 at same ££ & youd be hard pressed to take the one trick pony 86 :D
This years market has been harsh for sellers of all Zs & come the usual low season Oct , Nov , Dec then some great buys across the whole Z market could be out there

Your car prices are sooo cheap in the UK :o
Currently in Oz we have on the market :
a 2010 E89 23i with 60,000km for $39,000 (23,700 UK pounds)
a 2010 E89 30i with 78,000km for $42,000 (25,500 UK pounds)
a 2009 E89 35i with 48,000km for $43,000 (26,100 UK pounds)
We only have a small market, BMW Australia only sold 220 E89 35i models and our used car prices are line ball with a similarly aged and conditioned Boxster S. I paid a premium for my manual version as only 20 of them came into the country.

I hear you, mate - it's a bit grim here too. Although with our cheap import duties, good deals can be found occasionally (I think you guys are going to find out fairly soon when your Govt drops import duties as there's no local manufacturing base to protect anymore - then you'll be bidding against us in the Japanese auctions, pushing the prices up and screwing the status quo on cheap imports we've been enjoying for years :x :P ).

Here's a 2011 35iS Jap import (which means the satnav will be useless, unless someone's paid around $1000 to sort it)
84,000Km/52,200mi
$39,995NZD / 22,484GBP

I bought a 23 sdrive for £10k, 50k miles, grey with red leather, comfort pack and DAB a couple of months ago. Think it was a fair price

If we were to sell ours for £10k I would be disappointed but to be fair it would mean that we had only lost £2k a year during our ownership which is a lot less than the original owners.
