E89 Market watch

Much as I have had enough silver cars to last a lifetime, mr wilks' one does look so much better than the one in the photo posted!

I generally like silver, it's just BMW silver always looks pants on the cars I see at the car Stealer. I haven't seen a E89 mind you but 3 series X3 X5 i3 2series tourers always look lacking in some way. It never seems bright enough. Mr Wilks looks better but it doesn't look like the normal silver on said cars. I'd like to see it in the flesh to be totally convinced.

How about a 2014 35i navspec DCT with just 4500 miles on the clock for £21k :? in silver too which is without question the best colour for these cars :D  :P http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Z4-3-0-35i-sDrive-M-Sport-2dr-/302469680226?hash=item466c990c62:g:xmwAAOSwc~BZzK0M

Ooooo dear  looks a decent enough example in Havannah brown / 62k 35i dct for £13k but 17inch wheels are killing it :( not a good look & the seller thinks they are 18s :erm:

Ad also says car is metallic silver.

Ooosh...

That brown colour again... Does like much nicer with that contrasting trim though..I didnt even know you could fit 17's on the 35i.....With a spend on 19's it would look a different car.

Would be a nice thing to have £12,000 in..

Look at this one with a different perspective & you could be onto a bespoke 35i manual for sub 30i money
Pretty sure £10k would drive it away , yes a gash colour combo but throw a £1k wrap on + fresh alloys & a different car all together

decent spec too & not silly miles on 62k either

Wouldn't mind driving one of those 35i manual ones to see what the top manual model feels like.

I did 4 hours in the seat today , around 150 country miles with a few stops through a deserted Normandy countryside & i'm 100% convinced i made the right move avoiding the DCT :driving: i'm not slating the other as ive not lived with one but for me today id have simply been watching the scenery go by instead of actually getting involved  5th - 4th into the bends , 3rd out with hammer down  was great & could have stayed out longer , in my head & heart i doubt id have kept a DCT longer than 3 months

:o But its not an M!!
Indeed not

My only experience with an E89 is with the DCT which was such a turn off that I discounted the entire range.

I hear you - I was in Normandy and Brittany a month ago with the X5, and found some stunning roads where I enjoyed putting it through its paces. I sure missed the gear changes though.

Yep that’s a very very good buy, superb spec, nav, cruise, heated wheel, comfort pack, a lot of car for 10k.

Indeed John , throw £2k at that car & you'd have a great machine in looks & performance for £12k :o that's not bad money at all for what it can produce

You can do just the same with a DCT - using the gearstick and/or the paddles. The only difference is ... it changes gear a bit quicker.

Actually, a lot quicker. :D

But it’s not the only difference is it Buster, because you’re not actually changing gear but merely operating a micro switch.
I should imagine it’s the same as taking a beautiful woman to bed with a battery operated vibrating piece of plastic, it does the same job but is somehow less involving. No matter how quick it is!
