You can do just the same with a DCT - using the gearstick and/or the paddles. The only difference is ... it changes gear a bit quicker.

Actually, a lot quicker. :D

Ive had 2 x DSG 3.2 TTs with paddles ( & ive got paddles now on our C Class ) i know how they work & find zero similarity with a manual gearbox that requires simulated co-ordination between brain - leg - arm , when i say "involved" that's what i mean :driving:

But it’s not the only difference is it Buster, because you’re not actually changing gear but merely operating a micro switch.
I should imagine it’s the same as taking a beautiful woman to bed with a battery operated vibrating piece of plastic, it does the same job but is somehow less involving. No matter how quick it is!
Rob

Most women wouldn't agree with you, Rob. :D

I've had some good, powerful & well-balanced manual cars and, yes, I know what you mean, of course.

That said, I think the DCT box in a 340bhp/1500kg car is seriously underestimated, not least because most people - not you - think it's 'just an auto' and don't realise how involving it can be.

Ive seen far worse at far more :( well worth a look here if the set up + spec suits
A silver very well specced 41k 2010 Msport na 3.0auto for £13k & on style 326s ( half decent dealer but got his wheel style wrong  )

Cheers mr Z , i was told by certain others to avoid the silver but i'm glad i took no notice :P i actually think it shows the lines off really well + looks clean even when dirty , , i'm happy with it & after owning 4 grey & 3 black Zs was ready for a change

Have to agree with Mr Wilks, was told to avoid the silver but so glad I ignored them! Though we differ on the two tone colour debate his definitely makes me question my opinion.. :P

Lots of 35is cars up for sale at the moment!

Including our old favourite white , no nav , split rear rims example that the dealer must now be wondering why he bothered paying £15k for it  dropped it last week so now £17k down from £18k 2010 Msport 59k https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2010-10-BMW-Z4-3-0-Z4-SDRIVE35IS-ROADSTER-2D-AUTO-340-BHP/222643186220?hash=item33d6916a2c:g:oPMAAOSwBkRZ-0H9

Great way into a 6cylinder Msport E89 for reasonable money https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Z4-SDRIVE23I-M-SPORT-ROADSTER-White-Manual-Petrol-2010/232545385419?hash=item3624c8fbcb:g:C6IAAOSwng9Zsm84
23i 57k in white with 326s is always going to look the part & on the drive for potentially £10500 ?

Hi everyone! After trundling around in my 330e for 2 years I'm desperate to get back in a Zed, and an E89 35is is the one for me. (E86 3.0 Coupe before, check my post history :)).
The market seems completely bonkers though? Few private cars sitting around 16-17k and then a big gap to overpriced approved useds?

I just want a good colour combination and nav! Where should I set my budget? Not too fussed on age but mileage preferable below 60k as I will put 15k on it a year :? . The 2013 LCi doesn't seem to have added anything to make it worth the premium?
