Myself and MrsG are off on a bit of an adventure. No Zed I'm afraid, but I thought a few might enjoy the pictures as we travel.

So our two days in already and our first proper stop.

Marina bay sands Singapore.

And of course there had to be a Singapore sling for MrsG at Raffels Hotel. I was last there in 1986. Can't believe it was 37 years ago. So much of Singapore has changed, but not Raffels. Exactly as I remember it. :D

Struggling to upload some of the pics, having to resize them. Hopefully not killing the server.

Thanks Jembo, managed to fit in a few of the above. Mariana bay gardens were straight out of MIB, amazing. We walked 17km yesterday and never seemed to leave the shopping center. I have never seen so many escalators in my life. We did he circuit around the bay the first evening here? Yes the prices in those waterfront bars are eyewatering, but the views are amazing too. :D  Last day here today, then off to NZ :)

Oh have fun busyg, Singapore is a place one definitely needs to explore once in a life as is New Zealand

Looks like your having fun I went there in 2005 as a stopover Marina Bay Gardens was not there looks amazing and I can imagine the bar prices as I went to Orchard Road on my first night was taken there by a cab he recommended a bar (probably because they had loads of screens showing English football) had a pint of Stella was an eye watering £8 :o this is back in 2005 i swiftly left there after that pint and headed away from that area found a locals bar and Tiger beer on tap a lot cheaper.

Where you off to in NZ ? I stayed in Tauranga a couple of times visiting friends its a great country.

Keep that quiet from your Mrs, there’s a famous pickup joint there

That sounds like a great trip OP - I hope you managed to fit in a Singapore Sling (or two) in Raffles.

I had the good fortune to get "stuck" in Singapore for the best part of a week coming home from a business trip to Melbourne in April 2010 when Heathrow was shut because of the smoke from the Icelandic volcano!

Enjoy NZ.

So we made it to NZ today. After a quick stop and go in Auckland this morning, we flew across the Southern Alps and touched down in Queenstown. Then finally back on terra firmer for a few weeks we picked up our little hire car and drove the 50km down the twisting turning undulating highway 6. To Cromwell.

Out home for the next four days. Absolutely fabulous start to this leg of the trip. :D :driving:
