AVD - 2.5 Zed improvement

Had a phonecall from the garage today,

"Sorry but your car will not be ready, we found when installing the new wing that it's damaged. So we have had to send it off so potentially it might not be ready till next week"

I'm sorry but that's a load of crap. Why call me on Thursday saying it'll be ready if you haven't even fitted the wing and still have all the painting to do. That'll be the third wing that's come damaged from BMW. So in a week they obviously haven't done anything to the car.

So today the was the day to finally collect my zed after numerous delays. I had to wait a further 45minutes when I got there only to inspect it and find fault with it immediately. Screw lose in the boot lid, drivers light was full of condensation, front bumper hadn't been fixed and bonnet paintwork was cloudy from feathering. I was so pissed off and this is a main dealership as well. Put it this way I will not be paying the full amount.

Feel for you - nothing sucks like paying 'professionals' to work on your car and finding you could have probably done a better job with a rattle can and some supaglue...
Hope you get the faults rectified, or a sizeable discount for sub-standard work.

this is worrying noting your location... presumably its gone to the same bodyshop mine did if you were using bowker blackburn

When my various Z's have been in for paint at the main dealers I have rejected 4 times due to shoddy paint and prep, damage caused my sloppy workmanship and poor paint finish..

You'll be fine, mines gone through JCT 600. I think the 600 could stand for what I'll end up paying or the amount times I reject it.

Where's that picture of the guy with the lazy eyes people use when you need it. Are the technicians blind? You could see the feathering a mile off (not literally obviously), and I'm not quite sure how a headlight full of condensation is acceptable. condensation is a bugger too isn't it, once it's there it'll more than likely going to continue to reappear.

Holograms and swirls will be my next point of action when it's ready. I am seriously impressed how they can get so many swirls in just one clean on fresh paint.

thats good to know for me, not for you though, hope you get it sorted.

Yours will most likely be at Macadams in Colne for warranty work , decent outfit i believe , my sister works for the opposition at James Alpes in Clitheroe , they also do a decent job but not BM approved
Bowkers also use Gaskell in Great Harwood but they aren't BMW approved either so unlikely for your job

Rejected again. Boots paintwork is cloudy so they're doing again with a new pick up date of Monday. That'll make it three weeks since initially taking it in.

3 weeks.... Not bad...

Only another 9 to beat my record...lol..

On a serious note,i dont know how they get away with some of the crap paintwork they turn out.

Majority of their customers probably A aren't bothered or B know what to look for.

I also rejected the boot on the amount of orange peel on the boot. So much it was rippled.

I'll have my hands full when I finally get it back, fair amount of correction needed. With the 108s being refurbed over winter it'll look pretty much fresh off the production line.
