AVD - 2.5 Zed improvement

Shame about havin it so long! It must be a pain having that bloody 1 series derv!

Got rid of the 116.....118 now. Poowwwwwwwer ha! Haven't driven the Qashqai (hopefully getting rid) since I took it in, don't think they were particularly happy that I've doubled the mileage on the courtesy car.

The day finally came and I agreed to collect the car. HOWEVER the passengers (wing they've replaced) light is still full of condensation which they aren't sure why it's happened especially as in 8months it's never once happened.

Question: JCT 600 have agreed to look at it if it's not rectified itself by Monday. They've already tried using infrared to dry it but that's not worked.

Is it a new headlight job? Obvious can't replace just the one.

Battery was disconnected too which I find odd.

Check out their amazing talent. Fresh paint with swirls and halograms

They have also damaged the number plate surround I painted while machine polishing it so I'll now need to lightly sand it down and repaint and send them the bill.

My old z4 like yours did that when I fitted HID's - I just put the Mrs hairdryer in from behind (inside the wheel arch) and it dried it out no problem.

You'd think both would have condensation in wouldn't you. It's a massive coincidence though, I reckon while the wing was off they left it outside. They tried blaming it on cleaning it which I quickly dismissed!

If you've had the back covers off then it's almost certainly due to that. Smear the cover seals in gummi pfledge.

If the covers haven't been touched, then i'd be willing to bet it's fallen off or come loose.

Speaking from experience here. Mine took about 3 tries to completely sort it out.

Found out something interesting this evening while looking at what options my car originally had. The car out of the factory came with 17" 200 alloys, so either the 1st owner regretted ordering it with these or the second owner upgrade to genuine 108's.

The body shop has agree sort the headlights and fix all the other issues.

Finally it looks like the whole issue with JCT 600 has come to an end after what 6 weeks!

They've sorted out my headlights as agreed however they did not fix my grills (polish residue which I obviously can remove myself but why should I) or fix the number plate plinth so as a resolution they have agreed to buy new grills and a number plate plinth!!

Now I can begin to detail it....again.

With what ever free time I've had over the past couple of weeks I've began correcting the paintwork and finally fitted my winter alloys which I am not keen on at all.

First time using BD Clean recently and I must say I was extremely impressed by the cleaning power

Next up was to tackle the headlights but sadly they can't be fully corrected externally. one has odd frost like lines inside and the other has a couple of marks. Obviously none of this impacts the light output and for 9/10 people wouldn't even notice.

Claying was next, 6 weeks and a few hundred miles of unprotected paintwork resulted in this.

So the car currently stands at stage 1 paint correction completed, spacers fitted and winter alloys fitted.

Cheers!

If I can shift this man flu I want to complete stage 2 and 3 tomorrow then the decision of what sealant and wax begins. Having some custom show wax made up in a marbled design (yellow and pink) with a marzipan scent - looking forward to those pots arriving soon.

Ooooo, when you say Yorks/Lancs whereabouts would that be? There be some nice roads between me and that area of the country.

Could be worth a drive out once the weather picks up a bit.

Guessing by your user name an how the zed looks is this your business, if it's not to impertinent to ask what sort of costs would it be if you had the car for a couple days, to do what you could with it.
If prefer to pm rather than post in the tread that's fine. Car looks really good top work
