Good news it’s progressing as expected

Looks good with those wheels, they growing on you any?

Thanks Andy, yes , pleased with general feel and ‘poke’..early days but feels much tighter and balanced than before..moving away from wallowing barge status..still not floating my boat reference the wheels…I guess the good news is that I could always find a home for them.. :tumbleweed:

I think that the aesthetics are coming together well. Those alloys can carry off black better than a lot of other styles IMHO. (And they fill the arches better than your previous Zitos). Rear spoiler and black lower front bumper section if you go for it, will finish it off nicely.

As discussed previously I’m not that keen on black wheels because of the definition loss and the match with exterior colour but I think those specific wheels against the yellow are a good match. The BBK helps retain the definition IMO.

Saying all of that, these things are a very personal choice and if they’re not floating your boat I’d be taking them off straight away, to minimise wear and damage and getting something you personally like. If 19’s straight swap out of tyres, if not sell as a package.

I’m sure you’d not have much difficulty shifting them either on here or another platform. I also agree with Stuart that maybe the other flashes of black like spoiler etc will give it a more “balanced” look

I'm another one who is not normally a fan of black wheels - but I have to say that they look absolutely fine on that last photo you posted.
The yellow brake callipers help.

I'm not usually a fan of black wheels either, but I they just seem to work on your car.

If you are losing grip in 4th is sounds like it's gonna be a bit of a beast on a dry road when warmer weather arrives!

The stage 1+ MHD tune predicted upto 390 BHP and 600nm …on my reference dyno mine did 390 BHP and 567 nm..so it’s doing ok..

Stage 2+ is predicted to be up to 420 BHP and 650 nm…so we will see when we get to the dyno.

I will certainly have to explore carefully what happens if you prod the accelerator big time mid corner both wet n dry..

When the big turbos are implemented then I should be able to keep up with AlienZed and Patriot 66

Thanks for all the comments on the wheels..the satin finish I’m struggling with, maybe a gunmetal black would lift it.

I’ll put the Veeman’s on hold

And I thought I'd been having grip issues with my MC.

"Just" 338bhp, but I imagine torque is a much bigger issue for you - mine is only 364Nm! :(

Enjoying reading your updates.

We could get (back) into a big discussion about auto gearboxes and their merits..

The real world benefit of all that torque over such a broad area and tailing off early compared to a normally aspirated engine is that when married to a wide ratio (ideally) auto box is that rapid progress is possible without the need for vigorous stick stirring..it’s not the purpose to resurrect that discussion but the flip side is that once you get to these torque levels it’s then possible inadvertently to overwhelm the rear tyres unintentionally..

With less torque stacked much higher up you have to be stirring the pedals and box to make the same rapid progress, but less chance of overpowering the wheels. :tumbleweed:

Glad you’re enjoying the journey..more to come soon :driving:

You're right, that has all been discussed before - probably more than once!

I just grew up with predominantly RWD cars and manual gearboxes so am happy to stick to what I know - old dogs and new tricks, etc.

And being honest rear end action usually happens because I want it to!

I also had a lot of RWD cars in my early years - fast in their day it seemed - my tweaked 3.0l Capri had 140 Bhp at the crank- wow !
Compare that with a a modern 3.0l ......? Well there’s none really!

The vast majority of us in our RWD cars today only stay away from the ditches because of the modern Electronic driving aids.

Bigger and stickier tyres help ameliorate the possible loss of traction but I think damp / wet roads always reduce the available grip.

You really need an ever increasing arsenal of technologies to use these levels of power.

Limited slip rear diff..

4 wheel drive

4 wheel drive with one or more LSDs

The DSC/ESC systems are the catch all when it goes Pete Tong… :tumbleweed:

Wider / better tyres / LSDs / AWD are your primary improvements :driving:

DSC saves us from our own indiscretions..probably why the EU made it compulsory on all new cars in 2014

100Bhp / Ltr was the holy grail !

Ron that was then, this is now…200bhp per litre is now possible for mass production engines..Mercedes’ new 2 litre engine (M133) does 208 BHP per litre..I think I need to set 600 BHP as my target

That struck a chord! According to Ford both my 2.8 Injection Capris had 160bhp!

The 100bhp per litre really was a holy grail and there have never been too many naturally aspirated engines producing that. But as soon as you include forced induction the sky's the limit - fortunately for B21.

Great car and great things to do  There is never too much power :driving:

Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.. :tumbleweed: :fuelfire:

Yes I'm getting hooked on BHP..

Had to press my 20i MSport Auto into service today due to the Ohlins clunking issue..

With only 300bhp and 450 nm down on power, but with its Quaife LSD< despite crap Potenza run flats was much better balanced and capable on today's greasy roads.. :driving:

The 35is wouldn't have been quicker A-B..I suspect it would have been slower and more stressful! :tumbleweed:

Still for reference we met up with a guy with a 2 litre Seat Cupra..over 700BHP (water and meths injection)
