Anyone selling a Z4M Coupe? or know where to look

I paid £32k for mine - that was a deal at the time - and I would consider £1500 is a lot to ask!

Maybe, but at 32k there might not have been an awful lot of other potential buyers. Clearly bargain cheap Z4 M's are now being snapped up very very quickly with a big demand for cheaper cars also. If I was looking to sell quickly now, I'd consider a highest offer process :). If I was buying now, I'd still want to find the right car at a fair price (ie, spend a bit more if I have to)

Crossed wires I think Darren - I think we agree? Not saying holding out for £1500 is a lot to ask, but asking for £1500 off :)

It all depends on how keenly priced the car is to start with of course - if, for example, you have been sniffing way to much glue while pricing your cars like good old Meriden, you need to accept offers several thousand lower - but in a market which seems to be firming up all the time (depreciation has settled right down, buyer demand is up) I would definitely hold out for the 'fair' price and not sell it to the first person who wanted it...these are too good a car to give away IMO.

I keep thinking about selling but I do wonder if in 5 years time, when they are still fetching good prices, whether I would regret it...It could be one to just keep in the garage forever

Good idea. I'll call WBAC and the dealers to see if they want to get into a bidding war :P

Meridien is a stones throw from Sandbanks I believe. It's a bit like Hexagon of Highgate BMW pricing levels...very expensive, that one you posted!

Dick Lovett always seem to price their cars reasonably, 21949 for the 56 plate nav with 9k miles, so maybe I am setting my sights based on their pricing.
I appreciate these are too good a car to give away but I can't recall the last time there were 23 M Coupes all for sale at once on Pistonheads either, and the more that are for sale the more chance there is of a seller capitulating if they feel that there is a lot of competition. That's not to say my opinion is correct, it is just an observation :)

Asking for £1500 off is relative to the starting price though, you are right. My personal view is that £1500 off a £25k car and £1500 off a £7500 car are two very different scenarios especially worked as a percentage of the price!

When I spoke to the guy selling the red car for £19500 yesterday he told me he had received an offer on email for £17000. Even I wouldn't take the pish quite like that.

If the prices do start to rise and I can't add to my savings fund at a greater rate then I will look at Roadsters instead. But I do think the Coupe is the better car (stiffer, nicer looking, and better power to weight ratio - according to the tables in the back of Evo magazine it is only 9hp/tonne below the V8 M3) and will hold its value in the future moreso than the Roadster.

Please accept my apologies! I thought you were implying that it ONLY had cupholders (and no other options other than the paint/leather)
Don't forget the super shiny piano black trim - although I suppose I could strip off all the options and sell them separately on ebay :P

It's currently got it's winter rubber mats in, but I've got the original black & champagne ones stored safely away - and I also extended the warranty in December when the factory warranty ran out - £900+ worth of no excess, comprehensive BMW Extended Warranty. Taxed & MOTd until December.

Looks like a great spec car. How do you find the DSP? I have Logic7 (same thing different name) in my present car and it is brilliant (company car which is also is from Specialist Cars BMW).
I quite like it, although I haven't found that the DSP 'room' settings themselves have made much difference, and having that many speakers so close does not do a lot for acoustics - nor does having the seats so far back that they muffle the bass speakers.

You know how it works with the trade, I am sure! They will tell you the interior is a light colour, easily marked and unpopular (it isnt of course), black is too common and hard to shift(but probably one of the most popular and easy to sell), and new engine will put buyers off (I wouldnt say so but they will) so it is worth pennies.

The black 2008 57 plate on PH has had offers from Sytner very close to his asking price mind you, so maybe we are seeing some light in regard to dealer offers. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1485249.htm

I used to live in Bournemouth and know Sandbanks well :)

Yes Meriden are primarily Ferrari and Maserati and in the New Forest - wealthy client base...

Where is the one in Dorset you are looking at? Is it this one? Red is one of the hardest colours to sell apparently (?) so maybe a deal to be had

That's really confusing! £23,750 for a 2008 car? Not much of a gap between that and £20,000-£22,000 for a 2006. I'd say that was a cheap car

Yep, crossed wires, my misunderstanding :).

Not only are they cheap to buy now, I also think prices will do well longer term. UNless someone needs to sell, they're worth hanging onto long term. Due to limited numbers, they're potentially another E30 M3, some of which today sell for about the same or even higher prices than when new (25-30k). I doubt the Z4's will have it quite that good but should do well over a long period

I hadnt spotted that one, thank you for posting it. Didn't realise Imola was hard to sell either. I quite like it, probably just below the dark colours and above silvers and greys in regard to my personal preference.

I meant this one... http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1437668.htm

I would like to say to everyone that I appreciate that this discussion is staying on track without you all jumping on a new poster (me). I have used forums for a long time and understand that values are a sensitive topic to people who already own the cars being discussed. It's certainly not my intention to upset anyone! :)

Yes, know how dealers work, and even had a similar scenario when I was looking to buy.
I went in or called quite a few with my (what I thought) broad range of exterior/interior schemes I would consider - all with a budget of no more than £25k (i.e. white with red leather, black with champagne, sepang or red leather, or dark blue with champagne or red leather, and carbon weave leather trim as I didn't particularly want any glossy reflections from the interior when I was driving). I also told them some combinations that I wouldn't consider (i.e. anything with black leather, anything in grey/silver or interlagos blue).

First offer came back at £28k for a 12,000 mile 57 plate in Interlagos Blue and Black leather :headbang: - told that dealer not to bother trying to source anything else for me as they were clearly incompetent.

Another offered my what I thought was a perfect match of a 9,000 mile Alpine White with Amarone leather - until he told me the price of £34k :o

Is it just me or does that one have the rare "low screen wash fluid" warning light :D

Looks like a good price to me. Pictures suggest it's in Poole, as does the servicing record - Wood are in Bournemouth, as is 'Southbourne Auto Centre'....(I used to live in Bournemouth and my car is from Wood). Definitely worth a look, wouldn't sell mine for that and mine is an October 06 / 56 with 32k, put it that way

I was just thinking that LOL! I don't have that. No petrol in that one either ;)

Having a Tracker will not 'reduce you premiums by half' - £50 reduction if you're lucky, but it will expand the number of insurers willing to quote.

Mine's got a tracker 'subscription' on a lifetime plan - although that only means it's covered until I sell it (or inform them I've sold it  )

Whats the thing about the low screenwash light then?

I presume its nothing to worry about but dont really understand the comments above not being an owner.

Thanks in advance!

I just spoke to the guy and he seems genuine. It is a long way to travel (3/4 hrs at a guess) but it could be the one for me. Will have to see if I can get down there this week.

For some reasons a lot of us just don't have a 'low screen wash' warning light. It just runs out!

Give him a call, ask him to be 100% about every detail of the car because if you come down it's to do a deal and drive it home....ask for super high res photos by email of the interior, bodywork and any blemishes etc. If you are happy with what you see, make the trip - you can always reject it in person if not happy?

Wash light down to Spartanburg randomness by the sounds of it then!

Good point, I will be getting the train if I do go...I won't bother him to do the pics until I know I can get time off to travel down.

This one is seriously cheap but you'll need to be quick. Not sure about the wheels though...

flimper, good spot. Has been for sale here for a while (not at that price though!), got to be worth a shout at that price. I actually quite like the wheels.

That price is pretty damn low and surely indicates a real urgency to sell. If I was in the market and could live with the colour, I'd be in for that rapid. Cracking car for that money.
