Z4MC Leaking Steering Rack

Hello all,

maybe your experience and knowledge can be of help here: my car is being serviced before being taken off the road for the winter and just a got a report of a leak from the steering rack - see attached photo.

Is it a sign of a failing rack? do you know if such leaks can be fixed or are they a sign the rack needs replacing? Are there businesses that refurbish these units?

Give the area a good clean up and add a couple of tubes of Liqui Moly Power Steering Stop Leak to the reservoir. Worth seeing if it will refresh the seals and stop the leak before considering a rack rebuild.
