Z4M what next subtle mods

I like the red on red calipers : D and I do like the shadow chrome wheels, ESP on that imola. :D

I really like the flash chrome and Johns car looks great. But The 224s I have are gunmetal gray and when they are clean they look good but when they get even slightly dirty they look as dull as dull which is annoying whereas my CSLs OEM finish looks miles better

Also like the 3M, but when the 3M rips with a stone chip it looks pants, also the 3M is too matte for my liking I think gloss black would look better.

I also half agree with the skirts, I think the bottom corner has too much going on after seeing a few at the meets.

Flash Chrome looks good! Silver cars can pull off silver wheels much better than other colours though.. you could even go brilliant silver with a gloss effect! And Silver also is one of the few that can pull off the carbon front lip too. Sadly i'm not sure there are any colour mods i can do to my car. tempted to carbon wrap the wingmirrors.. and paint calipers - but what colour do you paint calipers on a red car, without going yellow and making it all ferrari-ish?!

I dont like anything darker than Shadow Chrome personally, especially on OEM cars.

Painting the calipers is simples... Red on Red

DONDP what springs have you got? JImmy I presume your car is still sat on OEM suspension set-up?

Now you mention it - (immediately before reading this thread) had a thought mine looked a bit high. uh oh! how much is a set of H&Rs? :D

 This is how it all starts Jimmy! Enjoy!

Luckily there arent many Imola M Coupes to give me dangerous ideas :)

I'd have to do some practical testing of London speedbumps to check feasibility, and then i'd definitely be getting the bumper skid plate things for the fangs!

I'm going to spend my holiday pondering gloss black wrapped front lip, roof and wing mirrors..

Jimmy..........

Cheapest place for H&R's is Larkspeed...

There is a 2-3 week wait as there are non in the country and have to be ordered from H&R in Germany...

Eibachs are readily available but only lower the rear 10mm.......Not enough IMHO..

If i'm honest at the price of a decent suspension setup, i'd be looking to research handling improvements and balance too. I think exdos has some strong opinions here, i'll be doing some reading :)

Yea....

John has done a lot to get his car handling better... Be prepared to spend ££££ though..

I've spent less on my suspension mods than many others will have spent on a set of CSL wheels and aero skirts. Personally, I'm not into cosmetic mods because the Z4MC looks great as is.

Really.....

What have you spent then John ? £3k ?

I bought the AC Schnitzer Racing suspension secondhand with just 2k miles on it. It wasn't my first choice, but it had been for sale on Pistonheads for 2months and nobody wanted it so I made a very low offer for it and it was mine. At the price I paid I thought it was worth a punt and I've not been disappointed with it. 8)

From memory, I paid £360 for H&R ARBs, £350 for StrongStrut Strutbrace, £130 for H&R Trak wheel spacers 10mm all round and £110 for Turner Motorsport Rear Trailing Arm Bush limiter Kit. If I'd bought the ACS Suspension new, then it would all come to around £3k, as you suggest.

I fitted all the stuff and did the geometry myself, so I had no other cost other than the parts.

Has to

Be a balance of grace and pace in my camp... So it's port ant that it looks as good as it goes :-)..

I can't see how CSL wheels and aero skirts would make mine look any better or make it go any faster but the suspension mods greatly improve the ride and the handling though. :D

I took this whilst waiting for a friend at a service station en route to The Ring.

And here's the suspension doing it's job...

Thanks. The calipers are OEM black: the pads are Yellowstuff. Honestly I didn't buy them for the colour! I've got them on my Silver Z3MC and like them both for performance and because they produce relatively little dust.
