Z4forum "meet" - weekend of 02/03/04 July

Since we will be at 2 campsites(and adjacent hotel),we can decide on the day where we want to have bbq(weather permitting,etc)/tho plan for the Sunday is to have dinner at the Crooklands/pub-restrnt :D

put me down for drive only on saturday  not been to any meets since my first one when we had a nice row of z4's at the cosford breakfast club.

Craig,

Slight change of plan for me. I'm getting up there on Friday evening and doing the Saturday but not the Sunday. I've PM'd you with where I'm staying.

Cheers !

Steve

:driving:

Just to provide a flavour of the two days driving. That way if anyone is only attending for one day this may help them choose!

Saturday will be a tour of the Lake District taking in the Kirkstone, Whinlatter and Honister Passes, as well as passing Lakes Ulleswater, Thirlmere, Derwent and Windermere. Lunch will be in Keswick and we'll be finishing at Bateman's BMW for tea, biscuits and a natter and drool over some of their cars. Length of route about 130 miles. It's July and it's the Lakes so I expect roads will be busy so this one is more a scenic drive.

Sunday will be a longer route crisscrossing the Yorkshire Dales but passing through Ingleton, Kettlewell and stopping at Hawes for lunch. The buttertubs Pass (Jeremy Clarkson's favorite road in England) then onto Tan Hill before winding our way back down towards Hawes and Ingleton. Length of route about 150 miles. Some of these roads are rarely busy so we may get more time to get along a little!

Directions will be provided and I'll be looking for 'tail end charlies' who know where they're going to try and keep us together. All we need now is some good weather :driving:

PCBung, I'll be one of the peeps at water's edge on the Friday, and I believe Siftah's planning on heading up on Friday too, and he's at the other one. So whether you're at either campsite or the hotel, there'll be a friendly face not far away (although Siftah's not got that friendly a face ;)).

Sammyz, any chance you could send me over detailed route plans ahead of time (I'll pm you my email address)? I want to try and create a tomtom route (which I'll provide to others if I manage it).

Tweed,

will E mail route to those who want it, yes. Let me know which day's route you want by P.M. and your E mail address and I'll get the route sent to you next week when I've finished the planning.

I'm still deciding wether to go!
Why? You've obviously got your outfit sorted by now, and surely just meeting up with us hansome chaps is reason enough? (or maybe not)
Also Bung needs someone to keep him company on the way up. Go on, go on, go on, go on....
p.s. The A65 (that goes very close to Guisleley!) is a great road early morning and you can feel free to stop in for a pit stop on your way up.

Well if I have someone to head up with then I shall probably come. Bung only lives round the corner from me! :)

So Bung, tell me your plans, are you going for the whole weekend or one day?

Gotta check with my better half but I can't see it been a problem. If I go I will be stopping Friday and Saturday Night and I will be camping ofc :D

I've got the go ahead so ill be there on the Friday night.

I'm heading up with you then!! Camping! I guess I'll need to book a place then...

I'm turning up on Friday afternoon sometime, pitch the tent and kick back.

However is there actually any sort of plan for the evening that we campers should pull together. I've seen mention of BBQ's and so on. Now I'm pretty relaxed and can survive on a glass of wine and bag of chips, but experiece from regualr Jeep events tells me we just need to have an idea what, who, how, etc. or it will become 20 people wandering around and ending up in the pub.

I can bring beer or wine, but not a BBQ (only because on the M6 with the roof down it will spoil the look) Happy to cook too if needed.

Anyone with local knowledge that can suggest or guide.
