Z4forum "meet" - weekend of 02/03/04 July

There will have to be moderation on Saturday night, all drivers will be breathalysed before Sunday's run and anybody found to be sober will be prevented fom taking part. :) Er have I got that the right way round?

For my part, driving Sunday = cokes Saturday night...
So I guess I'll have to tamper with Sammy Salt's Irish breathaliser ;)

Yeah, looks like its going to be a good turnout, indeed :D

SORRY,TAZ,BUT THE MEET IS DEFINITELY,VERY MUCH ON,FOR THE 2ND/3RD/4TH OF JULY,tho i am sure u will enjoy your holiday :P

As for the Sat nt ,it will be a qt few drinks for me too, dont fancy driving hungover on the sunday, lol
should be good though

Whilst we're still a couple of weeks away and everyone has time to order/plan things;

Thought I'd suggest the idea of walkie-talkies again - we mentioned again on the North-East meet how they'd be useful when people got broken up. Sounds like there could be a large turn-out, so they could be handy :)

(Fingers crossed the weather in 2 weeks is like it is in Manchester today, lovely bright sun and barely a cloud in the sky...)

I know! I did at least buy one though, just forgot to take it with me :)

I think if people have got walkie-talkies and want to bring them that's fine. You'd hope that with instructions, sat navs and mobiles and a clear list of A to B to C etc we could keep together but the recent North East meet suggests otherwise! :)

You would think, but when you don't have a good sat nav that lets you upload directions at the trip it's difficult. Not to mention cruising with the top down and trying to read directions is quite difficult. All while avoiding running off the road or hitting someone else. At least if you don't have a navigator. I'll bring my radio, but I didn't really think anyone in the UK knew what that was...

quite annoyed now.

Phoned Little Acres campsite last week, and was told to ring back today, but was assured there was a lot of space.
Rang today and was told it was packed out.

Well annoyed.
:headbang:

EDIT: And now reserved.

There seems to be an 80yr old man that likes to answer the little acres campsite phone, and apparently he hasn't a clue, so if you get him, ask for the lady ;)
Also, they're now pretty much booked out - there's some dogshow going on the same weekend or something..

Aebous, it seems you and I are to be tent neighbours at Little Acres.. and also the only ones AT little acres.

guess that means more beer for you and me ;)

They do take a long time to answer....
If you tell them you're with Mr Mellor and the crazy american, she should put you near us, rather than with the dog show lot ;)
And you may have to beg and plead for a spot....

ps - are you going up on the friday or saturday?

I think I'm just going to head up on the Sunday now for the drive. Is anyone else local to me just doing the Sunday drive? Or have I got to find my own way there?
Just to save me looking through the thread again, where and what time is the meeting point for the Sunday?

Can't answer about the times but I *may* just be heading up on the Sunday myself, all depends on if my mate makes it back from Italy in time on Friday night. Will let you know. :)

I got all my camping stuff out over the weekend, checked it over, gave it a good airing where needed... all set now!
This weather had better keep up too!

*trying to be patient*

I may be day-tripping on Sunday too - send a pm on Sat if you haven't got any better offers and we can work something out.

If any1 cant get booked in,and are planning/wanting to stay over fri/sat nt's,and can get booked somewhere else, near to hand, then do so,and we can all decide when we get there,at what campsite we want to have bbq at on sat nt.

Or,i am sure some ppl may be ok at sharing tent space,if they are on their own,and have room/want to share.
I have a roomy 2/3man tent,so dont mind sharing with 1 other person if need be/other than that beg and plead with them to squeeze u in beside aebous, etc at ltl acres, lol

Hope we get good nujmbers for drives and bbq,etc :driving:

Planning on going up on the Friday - still been unable to get anyone to answer this evening too (tried about 4 times) I'll have to give them another go in the morning :\
