But yes, would be useful if they could change the title of the thread or something to make it more obvious. But when calling I never understand why companies don't eliminate the car question first!

EDIT: Just reminded me of the scene in Top Gear why Clarkson tries to get a quote for the Veyron.

yep after a long they say they cant get the insurance. its funny.

It says in the very first post that M cars are excluded...

Doesnt Mention M cars are excluded. It says you need atleast one years NCD with those cars to be insured. if you read correctly it says M, L postcodes not cars.
Try again. 3rd time lucky, perhaps?

If you name your car "Blueflash", what can you expect? ;)

I wonder if that's what he asked for when he called up?

"Yes, I'd like to get a quote to insure Blueflash."

I guess the automotive equivalent of asking for a quote for Airwolf! No make and model info needed

HAHAHA
you guys dont 'arf make me larf sometimes :P
i think it'd be cheaper if i registered my own insurance company..."blueflash insurance LTD" and then just insured myself on my own company

i'd insure myself against 16" alloy theft, 2.0 engine damage and anti t-cut paint damage

... except Airwolf wouldn't get off the ground with a 2.0l ;)

Hi

Although on average nearly 1 in every 2 people who get a quote from us take out a policy, the number of people who ring us is quite low compared to the amount of registered users.

I realise that there are certain age and postcode limitations as stated in my original post in this thread (which are there to protect the scheme for the majority due to the high claims loss ratio's within these categories) but I would encourage you to give us a call if your car (or home, breakdown) insurance is due.

Our reputation hopefully precedes us based on the amount of grateful comments received.

Please ring free on 0800 917 2274 (mobiles can ring 01424 200477) and just state the club reference number found in my signature below, or in my original post.

We want to make your day!!!

If your car insurance renewal is due in the next 21 days, please feel free to ring us on 0800 917 2274 or 01424 200477 for mobiles.

(Don't forget we also do breakdown cover, travel and home insurance!)

There are a lot of M owners on here (who you don't want to touch with a bargepole). I find it odd that the Forum's official insurer excludes the halo model in the (old) Z4 range.

Tim,

I'm set to renew my insurance in July. My current insurer have just sent me a hilarious renewal quote (higher than this year, despite an extra year driving/NCB).

I'm interested in a getting a quote, but I don't want to waste your/my time, as I'm about to turn 24 (just before I renew), making me 12 months short of your 25+ bracket.

I do, however, have 12 months of no claims on the Z4 since purchase last July and 2 other years NCB (so 3 total) including time on an RX-8 and a 2 litre Audi A3. Can the requirements be bent a little? :D

Car will be garaged in the house I'm about to buy (DN3) too.

Hi Spud
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you - just returned from a business trip.

Unfortunately, they are very rigid about their parameters. The difficulty is that insurers have been hit hard with claims so they aren't offering flexibility with this. Sorry.
