Z4 3.0i to 3.0si with bimmerlabs flash!!

I just installed 3 stage intake manifold on my N52, then flashed the file from bimmerlabs with RSA delete and 3.0i to 3.0si tune using ICOM

Both disa works, now I have upgraded from 3.0i 210hp to 3.0si 265 hp!

That must make quite a difference. Thankfully in the UK all our 3 litre facelifts were the 3.0Si. :)
 
Presumably the same upgrade could be done on the UK 2.5i to 2.5Si, which should tip in about +40bhp.
 
Oh this makes me feel old.
In my day we upgraded to twin carbs for an extra 5 bhp…
And flashing anything got you arrested (or so I understand) :cry:
 
IIRC the USA was one of the markets that had a facelift 3.0i - I wonder if they had any facelift 2.5s?
 
Hello! I have a Z4 2.5i, just installed the 3 stage manifold, but I am struggling to find the file to flash in the ECU. I think the bimmerslab is not active anymore and there loads of different files there to download without any note or description of what they are... can anyone help me with the right file?

You need ECU tuning to gain the power of 2.5si.

So far on the internet I think I am the only one shares ECU 0da file for 2.5i to 2.5si.
 
That's great Ivanchen, thank you very much! Will try this tomorrow afternoon. Does it have the bat file to run or do I need to run it through Winkfp? There are so many tutorials online with different information that I am getting lost. Install the 3 stage manifold was very easy, but flashing the ECU is annoying me.

There's batch file, it was created using bimmerlabs so the procedure is pretty much the same as the E90 steps you can find online.

You have to run through 2 different batch file.

1:RSA delete for MSV70. (do you have it?)
2: the modded 2.5si ECU tuning 0da I provided.

I suggest you try if your INPA can communicate with ECU first.

Then setup WINkfp per bimmerlabs

Also I suggest for both RSA delete and 0da flash, edit the bat for the file path and change the path to the full file location. For example c:\N52\flash\etc\0da. Hope you understand what I'm talking about. The path in bat was like .\0da and some people (including me) have to change path to let the bat run successfully.
 
Yeah, the rsa delete i managed to get through bimmerlabs. I managed to find 2 links to download the bmw tools as well, but I am not sure if should skip or not the steps 3 and 4, I am worried that if I try to do the step 3, it doesn't work as I cannot find the files in the locations that it says, I found those files in another folder, and when I try to use them, the software tells me that they are already there and ask me if I want to replace them.

You are correct Ivanchen, I have upgraded to 3 stage DISA and proved that both DISAs are working, but haven’t installed the ECU tune.
Do you have a step by step guide for idiots how to do this? I find the e90post thread assumes a certain level of programming knowledge which I don’t have.

Sorry I don't get what you mean by step 3 and 4. Are you talking about BMW INPA or the bimmerlabs file?

For the flash it's basically just click and run. No coding knowledge required. But first you must have INPA tools installed and working.

Do you have BMW cable and INPA tools installed?
And 2.5L engine too?
 
And you need to have a car battery charger hook to the car for the whole the flash process, if the voltage drops too low the process will fail. The RSA delete will take like 20 mins. Don't trust your battery.

Yes - I have a “B-cable” and INPA tools installed, 2.5i engine with a 2.5Si manifold, and a CTEK battery charger too
 
Yes, I bought the DCAN cable and I have installed the BMW standard tools 2024, which has the INPA, WinKFP, etc... My engine is the 2.5i, Z4 E85 2006. The steps 3 and 4 that I mentioned is from bimmerlabs https://www.bimmerlabs.com/help#winkfp .
 
There are few different files in the other forum about this conversion and a discussion about which one works best, but it is not clear for me which one is the best. I have downloaded these, could you let me know which one to use?

Like what's written on bimmerlabs, if you have installed the bimmergeek version INPA, you just have to run through step 1 and 2.

if you used bimmergeek verison there's a "BMW coding tool", use it to update E85 SP-Daten, like the video shown.
