It is insured as a specific model, not a Z3. It also has an agreed value which is slightly less than the build cost but any higher would have put the premium up a lot.Looking great, very nice.
Out of interest, how do you insure it? You don't want a Z3 3.0 back if it gets stolen
Me too, mate.I don't normally chip into congratulatory threads etc as I'm a miserable bastard
Nor would I really. I've never seen one in the flesh, as 99.9% haven't.I wouldn't know a real 250 from a bag of cheese
Yeah it is. Switch is inside the ashtray with the DSC off button. Electric roof (sort of as per Z3) but it looks shite with it up. The roof is only for emergencies.I suppose the roof mechanism is Z3

It is a very strange car, this. People of all ages, from little kids to pensioners, shout in the street at it. It is a conversation point wherever it goes. Always in a good way. They don't know, or care, if it's genuine. People do seem to be drawn to it, probably because it is extremely unusual, looks quite period and not a typical 'look at me' type car.
You know what? That is precisely the utopian thought I had when I first looked into doing this in 2016. I was going to download some Matt Munroe, Sinatra and Dean Martin songs and put them on a USB to listen to while me and the Mrs take a road trip down the Italian and French riviera. It won't happen but the car is real.the sort of thing that you assume Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn drove down an Italian coatline in, in some film you can't remember the title of.

It would be easier to turn it into a Z4...with a roof.I think I preferred the Z3. Would it be much effort to put it back to OEM?
Or a MGB roadsterIt would be easier to turn it into a Z4...with a roof.
Or the English RivieraOh well, maybe have a day trip with the Mrs to Skeggy instead?
It is supposed to be a....wait for it.....a 1962 250GT california spyder SWB with covered headlights. phew!this really does emulate a 250 (is it a California?)
Mainly look at it in the garage. I have an indoor cover for it, but I keep taking it off as I can't stop looking at the car. What are you planning to do with it medium/long term?
