Andy, is this useful for you to know?......and 21 months, and many hours of frustration and loads of money.
But it is finally roadworthy and ready to MOT, insure and tax. Still a few small bits and pieces to do (not least a bespoke exhaust) but the vast majority is done and everything works.
It isn't perfect but for a complete novice like me I think it is pretty good.
So here are a million pictures for your delectation

BTW I have weeded the driveway since the pictures were taken!
A period reg number has been ordered and the headlight covers are now on.
I am also going to put 5mm spacers on the front hubs (even though I hate spacers), to pull the wheels away from the calipers a bit. They are very very very close and it is worrying me!
Yep, all for the treats
I am waiting for some front wheel spacers to be delivered (hopefully this week) as driving it at present makes me nervous that the calipers are going to scrape against the inside of my lovely chromed wheels. That is something I do not want. When are you going to take it out for a run? This fine, dry weather isnβt going to last forever.
You have waited a long time so I suppose another week or two to ensure everything is as you want it to be doesnβt sound too bad. I think you should plan a route so you can call in and show the car to as many people as possible. The spacers will pull the wheels away just a bit more, so if the calipers expand when hot it shouldn't be an issue.
I would also like to wait until the new reg number has been transferred, as I don't like it having a 2001 plate.
I have a few people who want to see the car. The tyre fitters, the sprayers, the upholsterer (who I need to see as he needs to re-make the handbrake gaitor), you and Angela (whether you like it or not), Stuart Winn, etc.You have waited a long time so I suppose another week or two to ensure everything is as you want it to be doesnβt sound too bad. Do you have phone signal there then?If you are coming this way, please make sure to ring first, I don't want to miss seeing the car![]()
I wouldnβt suggest, even for a moment, that it is the car (and Heather) and not you that we all want to see.I have a few people who want to see the car. I also need to take it to a couple of exhaust places so they can see whether they can make me an exhaust to the spec I want and need.
You sound surprised. I'd have been surprised if it didn't!My God the car gets a LOT of attention!
