Z3 project...no going back now!

Just thinking about it Andy. I bet you have never had so many Forum members being nice to you since you started this project.πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰
It's all just cupboard love Ian. I am fully aware of that. :p

Well I can only speak for myself but I am more than impressed with your achievement. I don’t think many thought you would complete the project. Let alone make such a good job of it. I think folk are genuinely pleased for you. Even though we are wondering when the β€˜for Sale’ sign appears.
I guess normal service will resume now the job is finished.

We need to see a picture of it out in the wild… even on the drive would doπŸ‘πŸ»

BTW I have weeded the driveway since the pictures were taken! ;)
A period reg number has been ordered and the headlight covers are now on.
I am also going to put 5mm spacers on the front hubs (even though I hate spacers), to pull the wheels away from the calipers a bit. They are very very very close and it is worrying me!

When are you going to take it out for a run? This fine, dry weather isn’t going to last forever.

Andy, is this useful for you to know?

I am waiting for some front wheel spacers to be delivered (hopefully this week) as driving it at present makes me nervous that the calipers are going to scrape against the inside of my lovely chromed wheels. That is something I do not want.
The spacers will pull the wheels away just a bit more, so if the calipers expand when hot it shouldn't be an issue.

I would also like to wait until the new reg number has been transferred, as I don't like it having a 2001 plate.

You have waited a long time so I suppose another week or two to ensure everything is as you want it to be doesn’t sound too bad. I think you should plan a route so you can call in and show the car to as many people as possible. Mind you it could take

I have a few people who want to see the car. The tyre fitters, the sprayers, the upholsterer (who I need to see as he needs to re-make the handbrake gaitor), you and Angela (whether you like it or not), Stuart Winn, etc.
I also need to take it to a couple of exhaust places so they can see whether they can make me an exhaust to the spec I want and need.

I wouldn’t suggest, even for a moment, that it is the car (and Heather) and not you that we all want to see.πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

First local 'shakedown trips' today to make sure everything is OK. Slight binding of one front brake but that is getting better with mileage (new pads and discs), other than that all seems OK.
My God the car gets a LOT of attention!
