"Wow" what a difference 4 makes

Boy, I'm glad I don't need tires right away, seems I have to work out RFT vs non-RFT on a Coupe (they're post facelift) and TPMS vs based on tire rotation speeds with ABS. :scratchhead:

Hey did anyone track their 452s ?? Are they any good for the track???

I did track mine the other day. However I have nothing to compare them too as it was my first track experience. They performed great, were quite verbal when I was getting close to the limit (a standard thing with street tires i'm told). Mine got a little high during the runs but that was normal, I think my highest psi was 46, which tire I don't recall.

I just drove home on my new Falken 452s and I could definitely tell a difference even in the parking lot! Very smooth and very quiet. Then about 10 miles into the drive the tire pressure indicator came on! I checked the pressure when I arrived home and found them to have 37 psi up front and 34 psi rear. Could that indifference cause the tires to turn differently and mess with the indicator? Thoughts?

Thanks Mike...BTW, the sticker on the driver's side door panel says 30 psi both F & R. Should the psi change since I changed the tires from RFT to non-RFT?

Hello friends,

Update on the Falken, 452's-----2 words---they rock!!!!!!
Smooth as butter-----Quiet as a mouse, you get it :D

Awesome,

I've never had runflats but I've always run my pressures at 30psi hot front and rear. I've tried other pressures but 30psi seems to suit me best.

Definitely drop the pressure. My door panels (for the OEM RFTs) recommend pressures that are absolutely ridiculous for the non RFT tires. I shoot for 30psi cold for street driving and 32 hot for track.

Thanks guys...down it goes...pssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss.

Now that I got the tires upgraded I'm thinking about some ceramic brakes and some cross-drilled rotars.

I purchased 452's a couple of months ago but am running at the recomended pressure rating 21bar front and 24 rear. Do you think I should reduce the pressures as it still seems a rather firm ride.

I would at least give it a try if I were you, you certainly won't do any harm and I suspect you will feel an improvement in ride quality and handling.

Well I lowered the pressures to 30psi front and 32 psi rear when cold. The ride is certainly less bumpy, I'll just have to see over time if it's lost any of it's pointyness.

Hello Friends,

Thought I would give you a update on my Falken FK 452's----After 2K miles, they are just fantastic, no uneven wear, rides is so smooth and well controlled, in the rain they are sticky :D :D

Final rating to date *****stars

The only concern is If I get a flat tire, Has anyone ever used the BMW repair kit?

Happy Holidays!!!

I'd like to hear about this as well, especially those with the in-wheel TPM rather than the calculated tire pressure change using the ABS system.

so let me get this right - if i have an 05 3ltr then i will have the ABS system not TPM (im in Aus).

My tires are also coming up to needing to be changed, looking to not replace them with runflat as in aus that will cost me approx $2400 for just hte tires... i also hate the ride (and the grip in the wet, would like something a bit more grippy)

was looking at some goodyear asymetrics or the falken's

It's likely you have the as you call it ABS system. That actually measures the relave speed of rotation of the wheels and therefire calculated if one is lower then it's twin on th eaxle. Works pretty well actually and told me seconds after my rim split that all was not well.

I'm planning on Falken's and have the ///M kit ready to put in the boot when needed.

I'm less enthusiastic about run flats as a concept anyway, since if you do have a flat and drive to a tyre shop the tyre is ruined. I'd rather try to fix at the roadside with air and sealer. If that fails call a recovery service and then I can likely get the tyre repaired anyway.

dont you worry bout wheel damage wth reapair foam?

No - I use it on off roaders all the time. Can be a mess to clean out sometimes, but never had a need on road. I'm sure garages moan about it when the tyre needs cleaning

I've just swapped my RFT to Falken 452 and they are absolute beauties! I've kept the pressures at stock for now (33f 39r) and I will see how that goes. So far the ride is great and the handling has lost it's tramlining (mostly but the roads around here are terrible).

Event tyres did the fitting for me and I can recommend them. Great service and not a mark on the alloys.
