Good luck with today

I`ll second that . Hope it all went as well as can be expected . Now just to decide on what to pick for the new set :)

Thanks guy's.

Teeth are out

Operation nearly aborted last minute. My white blood cells were showing low. Odd as i was doing a course of
self injections after each chemo, just to make sure there was the right balance.
To be safe i had a blood transfusion at same time as operation. Did not want infection and danger of the dreaded
jaw bone infection :o :(

Amazed. Anesthetized at 1400 Hrs and was home at 1900 Hrs :o
No real pain and minimal now 24 hours later, even with quite a bit of stitching.
Feels like i been punched in the mouth, lips bruised, swollen a little and sore in places, must have been clamped ? but apart from that
perfectly fine.

Managed a couple of warm coffee's even.
Diet is a "Soft" one not ljust liquid, which is again is a nice surprise, so soup, mash and maybe even spagetti on the menu. Result :)
Have new samples of protein drinks, which are very nice, so some variety there also.

The "EX" gave me a lift to and from stopped over last night to monitor me, just in case of a reaction.
Will keep up the spare bed for the rest of week, for afternoon nap's i(See below) nstead of nodding off in chair :D

So i keep expecting the absolute worst each time and thing's are working out so far. Have a nice holiday now from treatmewnt, to
get use to no teeth. Next is the stomach op' which is not uptil the the 6th March.

All good here. Happy bunny

Still basically on a liquid diet. Weight = 61.5 Kg :x (9 - 11lbs)

Have seemed to come out of a "Chemo fog" today. Hope i get a holiday from it until
round 2 which start's Jan 10th.

X3 has been faultless so far and felt good climbing into it today. Was well enough to go drive for supplies.
Went the long way round to get proper warmed up etc.
On getting out i was thinking what a brilliant purchase.
Yes, yes i know i could have spent 10 x more and got a 100 x better car, but could not think of one reason why i would want to do that.

So all good 8)

Sorry to hear you're not well Sean.
Hopefully things improve.

Sounds like you got a bargain X3.

Sorry to hear you also been under the weather, hope thing's all good up there

Update:

Workhorse X3 got to earn it's keep today.

40 mile roundtrip for Hospital appointment's. Took about 3 hours in total.
Flood's, tree's down, mini mud slid's, police blocaded roads, diversion's. Parked it back up absolutely filthy  :)

Meeting with Radiotherapy team this morning, had face mask moulded and had CT scan done with head clamped down in the mask.
Was quite comfortable so happy not going to be an issue come the start of Radiotherapy.

Cheers.
All the best, and keep up the fight and positive spirit.
I know it isn't easy. Take care  :driving:

A very tough time of life, you mentioned radiography coming up as it turns out I'm going in tomorrow to be fitted with another restraint for a one shot go of a second recurrence, on the other side this time. Not funny but they also tattoo marks on my chest and it bloody hurts! Don't think I'll be going to our local parlour for any. All the very best to you.

Thank you all for you support, I'm past 80 and it's Sean we are all wishing the best for.

Been told by nurse to get Moisturiser, for the Radiotherapy burning, have ordered.....

Any products you have found effective ?

Not being vain i have no knowledge of these things. Non perfume obviously.

The Z4 will get a run out Friday, have an appointment with the throat nurse, hopfully getting tips
on swallowing. If i can continue to eat real food and not be 100% reliant on the PEG, stomach feeder, this would be a massive bonus.
I received a letter yesterday and again it quotes this PEG / feeder may be a permanent fitting :o :(

Mouth: Still a bit wierd, i keep forgetting teeth are not there
Stitches are dissolving, keep picking bit's off the tongue. Gum's are fine, may get adventurous at weekend and see what
foods can been managed.

All good 8)

Cheers Sean, that is a very heart warming message and absolutely true and genuine.
I just felt a little guilty taking some of the support from your post. Without doubt a unique bunch of people contribute to this Forum.

I would ask the medical team what they would recommend as it can be a bit of a mine field as to which product you should be using
