Winter workhorse + Health update

Keep that positive mentality fella. - it’s important !
An old pal of mine has just come out of the same process well with that very same upbeat mindset

I would like to add that throughout the whole process, and it's still ongoing, the help, support and above all the treatments that I have received have been exemplary, everyone from the GP's, chemo and radiotherapy clinics, surgeons and their staff, oncologists, district nurses and more recently the Palliative Care team have been superb and I don't believe could have been better.
At the end of the day it's all all about quality of the staff and the equipment they have.
Sincerely hope you are experiencing similar good service in your part of the world. Great shame the NHS only seems to get negative publicity these days.

[ref]ekimj10[/ref],

I cannot agree more, my NHS Cancer care team have been and are truly fantastic.
Those that have attended some of my appointments (When i cannot drive myself) have also commented how awesome they are :)

I suspect that most of the negative comments about the NHS are about getting into the treatment phase. Once in the system they tend to be very good.

Keep up the positive attitude and sense of humour. It must be difficult at times but very necessary.

How are you doing Sean ? What`s the view been like from the crows nest , we have had a couple of nice sunrises and sunsets recently .

[ref]1536Z4[/ref], Morning Tony,

Been a proper bad last 8 - 10 days  . Have just 2 x Filgrastim injections to administer a PET-CT scan booked Wednesday.
Then a week's holiday, hopfully will be able to eat properly and build up some strength for the next phase.

Big meeting with all department's togeather on the 19th, should get full updates on how treatment has been going so far etc
and the plan for going forward
Then it's teeth out time on the 23rd.
Not seen the NHS catalouge yet, for the reconstructed / replacement set of teeth

Most excellent meeting today.

Doctor asked "You want the good news or the good news?"

The before and and after scan images are a world apart. The tumours are now at least a quarter of what they were
This means no more Chemo required :D No more chemo pump  Round 4 cancelled and PICC line removed

Can now go straight to Radiotherapey with no doubling up required.

So teeth out Friday, fitting for mask Monday, tummy tube op' next week also (Hopefuly) then a 7 week schedule set up for the Radio' 8)

Buzzing this afternoon 8) :)

Excellent news!
Onwards and upwards.

That is good news, is the mask to prevent the radiation going where it shouldn't?

Is used for locking down my head, so it does move even a fraction. Do not want the laser to zapp anything
other than the target tumour  Is why it's custom moulded :)

Purely because I don't know (and understand if you don't want to bother explaining) but why exactly do all your teeth have to come out?

[ref]enuff_zed[/ref], PM'd you mate.

As said before, i do not want to scare or upset anyone reading this

PM read and fully understood.
Great range of soups out there these days. :D

Great news. When you switch the TV and all you hear day after day is negative reports, its really great to hear some uplifting stuff.

Credit on how your responding to all this. It puts any issues I may have into perspective.

I'm so pleased you've had some good news Sean. :D

Wishing you all the best with the next phase of treatment.
