If we missed Leyburn out we could shoot straight to Hawes.

Lots of options, but that route misses out on Buttertubs which might be on some people's 'to do' list.

Good road between Ribblehead and Ingleton too - but most roads near Hawes are fun :)

As a start point the Shell garage might be a bit busy for more than a couple of cars - how about the Garden Centre half way between Pool and Otley (Stephen h smiths) or one of the big lay bys just Pool side of it?

Finn has a black e85 iirc

You are right, however, i have a cunning plan! After lunch at Hawes we will shoot up to the Buttertubs pass and can do it both ways :)

Black 2.0

We will just have to catch you up on the corners.

ARRRRGHH!!!!!! <-- the noise the Mrs will be making...

I don't think you need to worry were only going for a steady drive, not a race. :)

that's what they always say and yet....

I enjoyed the run along Blakey Ridge last year as much as any ten miles I have ever driven

edit- I had to thrash the 2.0L to keep up as the difference in performance to red zed's coupe in front of me was substantial - my brakes were starting to fade at the end. He probably wasn't pushing his car at all.

drat and double drat!

-- I chose 37.7 mpg over 3.0L and I think it was a reasonable choice. There are just some situations where it makes things slightly trickier. -- I wouldn't risk an incident to keep up though.

It's a fun drive from point to point. Nobody should ever be risking an incident to keep up. That's why we stop so often.

I think Rachel may be driving this one so it will be my turn to scream :)

edit --- ----------- ----------
I am being light-hearted here. If there is anyone considering not joining the meet because it sounds competitive, don't concern yourself. People are pretty sensible really, come along and enjoy the company on the roads, the driving is actually relaxed///

Right good people, the route and start point have being finalised :)

*please see initial post*

To avoid any doubt, we will also be taking a route via. the Buttertubs Pass.

Thank you for everyone's help and input so far, I look forward to seeing all who can make it on the 22nd. It will be a fantastic day come rain or shine ( preferably shine :) )

Finally, thaughts please?

We often go across to Sandsend beach with our little dog and then through Castleton onto Blakey ridge to have a sandwich and a beer at the lion inn but that stretch of moorland road is superb but the only drawback are the sheep that wander across it and insist on standing at the side of the road which makes that road a nervy one for drivers as sheep are stupid and likely to jump out :)

We have only just got our zed and live in a village just outside York and I am tempted to join you but I am also a bit wary as I have never been on a meet before and...... Well you know what I mean, are you a bunch of weirdos! :D kidding of course. We always take our little dog out with us in the car so the thought of leaving him at home would most likely put us off coming but it is a lovely area you are going to and I go to Stephen Smiths garden centre every month as they are one of my customers and that is an ideal place to meet as they have a big car park and it will be very empty early morning. Have fun I am sure you will :)

Andy

Good morning Andy,

I can confirm we are not a bunch of weirdos, lol.
;)

It would be great to see you on the 22nd if you are free. Your dog is of course more than welcome to come too.

Adam

Hi Adam

I am very tempted as when we had the MX5 I always thought should we shouldn't we! and we never did but the zed to me is such a brilliant car I am again thinking should we :) Linda's mum could possibly look after him... Hmmmm
