Where do you put your phone?

Hello all,

I've recently bought a Z4M Roadster and starting to find I haven't a clue where to put my iPhone...

Currently, it sits underneath my handbrake, which is not ideal for hazards, the brake and the lock button. Interested to see what you guys use? Vent holders, cup holders etc? Could do with it being in reach of the 12v plug and the location of the Aux plug (either going to be in the ashtray or underneath the dash above the roof buttons).

Cheers!

The question has been raised before on this forum but I don't quite get the issue? My smartphone is simply in my jacket pocket. I don't have bluetooth (yet) in my Zed but I do in my 2 other cars. So I just leave my phone in my jacket pocket and use the bluetooth function to make calls. Leaving the phone somewhere in the car would result in forgetting it all the time, lol.

i want to know as well... did put it under the handbrake on my 1st journey..... only to notice i had turned hazards on  so that was that place out of the question.
also i have a old iPhone 4 full of music which i use as a car phone/iPod/music player which i connect to aux and sit in ashtray (not ideal as it moves about lots and sometimes hit it with my hand when changing gears) so ive found myself putting my iPhone 5 simply between my legs, i have the sports seat so with the under leg bit fully extended out there's a nice little recess for it to sit in sideways nicely, not ideal and sometimes i forget it lol but i don't really like it in my trouser pockets as it either digs in my leg or makes trousers tight and the door-card storage is so small and out the way that's out the question as well

Use a Brodit holder. Works brilliantly, and easy to access the phone to use for Navigation

Thing is, for long journeys I will probably plug it in to the 12v, hence location close to this point. I will also want to use the Aux cable, so again, needs to be close to that. And finally, as the chap above has said, I use Google maps with turn by turn directions all the time, so again, having in a pocket would not work...

Under the handbrake for me. Easy to press the home button to activate voice control for music, nav and such.

Was looking into a mount, but it never materialised.

Thanks for this, they look interesting, will research further as that could be ideal.

In the iphone cradle in the box between the seats.

It doesn't fit? I've searched for iPhone 6 cradle or "snap out" fitting and it only appears to go up to the 5? More than happy to be set straight however as that's what I was really after, location wise!!

I have been using one of the Kenu vent mount holders for my Galaxy S5 for a few months and its been great at holding the phone in place :D http://store.apple.com/uk/product/HFQS2ZM/A/kenu-airframe-portable-car-vent-mount-for-iphone

Same here but for my Sony Xperia Z. Works great.

I stand my phone in the oddments tray between both seats, then run the Aux cable down by the centre console to the Aux socket. Or lie it in the recess in the passenger seat.

Same here. Stood vertically is easy to reach and Bluetooth deals with all the connectivity from it. Easy to reach scratches nothing nor slides off seats, etc.

That looks like a good one - thanks for this and the other suggestions so far!

I have a Window mounted phone holder, positioned bottom right corner of the windscreen.
This offers easy to access the phone while driving for Navigation or music via bluetooth.

I run a black usb lead through/behind the dash, starting/entering above the ashtray, and exiting besides the right hand air vent where the dash trim ends and meets the windscreen frame.

Ill be honest its only really used on long journeys, and have also used the passenger seat, between my legs and in the ash tray.

Could someone clarify, but i think its a legal requirement to have you mobile in a 'Cradle' if its being used in ANYWAY.

iPhone always sits in my pocket, regardless of which car I'm driving.

I guess this only wouldn't work if I got a 6+
