I done 146mph on my driveway (with the roof down!) trying to keep up with an Audi S4.
Unfortunately we reached the house so I had to start braking pretty sharpish!

i'm sure i read its ment to be 155mph but its runs out of puff much past 110-120 for me to bother to find out, i miss high end acceleration you get from turbo's

runs out of puff??? something's wrong with your car, or you're in the wrong gear!

I know my unmodded M3 would do 160 no problem, with 1500rpm left in 6th so a Z4 should be at least 155

140mph or so indicated is about where the rev limiter cuts in (6,500rpms or so) on the 2.5i M54 in top gear with the 5-speed manual (2.5i with manual uses 3:46 rear diff verses 3.0i manual with a 3.07:1 rear diff). I wonder what the top speed of the 3.0i in 6th gear would be if it had the 2.5i's 3.46:1 rear diff installed?

its possibly a mix of shorter gearing and less power but my Fiat ran out off puff at 135-140 (end of 4th gear) and it get there very fast with approx 190bhp/ton
the Z4 is only 170bhp/Ton (if memory serves?) and lacks top end power, the short gears dont really help.
just feels like the Fiat would of waltzed past the Z4, esp past 100....

Had mine on the autohahn and the maximum i could manage was an speedo incicated 150mph (roof up, 5th gear), even though there was plenty of straight road ahead i couldnt make it go any faster.
So considering speedos tend to over read i can only assume my car is broken or it had soemthing to do with using 95 RON.
