Well Scarlet is almost ready for release from the bodyshop following her encounter with a camper van tool....

The front passenger wing was creased and I took some pictures of the bodywork beneath in order to show any future purchaser that the damage stopped there.
Gap between outer wing and vehicle structure is enormous, good news

So here you go if you are wondering whats underneath.

There is a reason this vehicle is renowned amongst the smuggling community.
 
hmmmmm i never thought of that, always on the lookout for a new side line, how many immigrants coukd I stuff in there do you think :evil:
 
It's interesting to see how the cars were spray painted with the body panels on.
On my car suspected the bumper was resprayed as there is some over spray on some black parts, but later just assumed it happened at BMW factory.
 
When they removed my back bumper I could also see red paint flashed over behind the bumper..
So you are most probably right, and I guess if you spray the assembled car you get a better colour match, although I don’t think I would put plastic bumpers in a paint oven!
 
I remember fitting illuminated door cills to my Z when I first bought it in 2012. It was an option in the early days and managed to get a couple of original ones from BMW in Germany. The main dealer had to wire them up as BMW wiring is very complicated! The thing that impressed me most was the thickness of the steel on the cills, no spot welding loads of thin bits to create strength, just really thick steel running from wheel arch to wheel arch. Good design. I just wish they had put the fuse box somewhere accessible, really crazy sticking it under the passenger footwell, you need to be a contortionist to access it.
