Hi all, just wondered what you first realised after you bought your zed?-mine-i need cameras on the front bumper sides :) -i know they have a long front but it wasnt until i got round to the in-laws after picking it up that i realised just how looonnnggg!Pulling out of a side street some ahole had parked right on the corner(i was turning right)-the nose of the zed was in the middle of the road by the time i could see  -would of been better backing out!!!(i know youre not supposed to) :)

I realised that I was now somewhere, 400miles from home, with no insurance, in a car ive never driven before,

So 1 quick call to elephant for the insurance, then time to hoon it home, top down.

best journey ever, couldnt wipe the smile off my face

I now realise i want it louder.

That I am now driving the best Beamer ever :) (I had then just sold my M3 and traded in my 2008 Z4 3.0is that was made in the USA) I realized that quality of a car build in Germany was so much better (opposed to my 2008 where the mirror plastic cover kept falling off when I went over the slightest bump in the road). Mind you the sDrive Z4 3.5i is a higher quality car, still I was impressed.

Good question!
First thing I realise on the drive back, Kent to London, nearly an hour. Cup holders were not an option on the car I'd chosen! Having tested a few before, they'd all had cupholders and I'd assumed they were a standard fitting. D'oh!

Secondly, well worth waiting for! 18months later. Still love it.

I realised that I had spent a lot of cash and could have had 185 hookers for the same price.

Well, no not really, the first thing I thought was "Someone stole my ski bag and the dealership lost a set of keys, and I love this car so I don't care"

Efficient dynamics gets in the way of a good drive.
Those of you who haven't got an e89 may not appreciate what i mean but you will have a much more communicative car than i do and steering that you can properly feel the road through

That the jump from a 1.25 litre fiesta to a 3.0 BMW that I had driven once for 5 minutes combined with driving 120miles home in the pissing rain and dark with water flooding across the M25 was a very scary experience.

My misses is gonna go mad. Told her I wouldn't buy it without going through it all with her first.

She didn't after I convinced her that after 3yrs of bad luck and crap that this was a Present to ourselves :0)

....just how boring and ordinary so many other sports cars look compared to the Zed - Boxter, S2000, MX5, etc. etc.

Wish i learnt how to the set the sat nav (or even test drove it first)... was then left with the dilemma of being in 150 miles from home in a new car and had no idea which direction to go!
