Guy that restored my seats and other leather parts managed to match the color for the center storage button. Bought it black from aliexpress, fits like original (maybe it actually is, has the same letters on the back as original). Guy that polished the car previously restored the headlights and added Sonax UV protection. Will mount everything this weekend.

Yeah, they turned out great! I will create a separate post about my Z4 in June, after 5 years of ownership. I will post about everything that has been done to the car, prices, etc.

Haven't done yet but am doing today, now it's nice and sunny, but I have an electrical issue after fixing the knock sensors because I tried to be lazy and do it without removing the inlet manifold.
I created a crank sensor fault, maf fault, power steering fault, the DSC light is on, I have an amber light on the brake warning light plus being unable to read a load of modules. I love electrical faults :|

Picked up a complete and pristine manual roof for $400. That was A LOT cheaper than fixing all of the issues with the automatic roof. It was just wrecked from the accident. The frame was twisted, it needed a new pump, hydraulic lines, and the dogbone mounts were gone so it wasnt even attached to the car properly.
Plus, the tan just looked out of place on the gray car.
In with the new.

Yeah I'm noticing this. Even worse, primer and the matte black went perfectly, however the lacquer is messing things up for me sadly. After drying, there's 4 parts it seems I need to sand / clean again and respray, which is a shame. And of the 8 parts, of course they're all front facing parts too. If they would've been back pieces I probably wouldn't botherBen_Z4 said:
Could be me, but I would think it's more 'protected' with a lacquer finish. The matte finish so far looks fine by itself, but doesn't feel as durable as I'd like. Maybe I'm just imagining things, and maybe all I need to do is just add another coating of mattex-driver said:

And thanks for that info, guess I'll go with regular paint finish for now, can always change it later. Now to get the wheel off to Royals to get the leather parts sorted (to perforate or not, that is the question!)
