What have you done to your car today?

Yesterday drove up to South Zeal and met up with Enuff_Zed on his way to Cornwall to pick up my passenger window regulator. Fitted it today and works superbly. Then gave him a wash. Great day. If you are doing yours I highly recommend that you watch the ‘Revive My Ride’ YouTube video ‘Z4 window regulator replacement ‘. Brilliant.

That’s an unusual way to show gratitude - couldn’t Enuff_Zed wash himself?

Just fitted a nice set Brembo calipers!

Sorry I was in a bit of a rush, but good to finally meet you and glad your car is fixed. I coded the other chaps SBSR, then discovered the SBSL was dead too. Luckily I had spares so another successful rescue.
Yes it’s nice to meet and put a face to all these threads

Anyone know if there's an equivalent of this thread for the e89? I did a thorough search on the forum but couldn't find anything. I wanted to add this but I've got the wrong car. A 2012 e89 not an e85 or e86. It's for any annoying passengers. Although I haven't worked out how to wire it in to the seat yet.IMG_20241222_150018.jpg

Today I had the windshield replaced. Had to go 120km far to get it done and then back home. Had to drive super moderately due to chinese winter tires (which I only meant to have for the parked car during winter) and then even more moderately on the way back due to fresh glue.
At the beginning of the day I reseted the BC consumption and saw the minimum consumption being 6,3l/100km (37,3mpg) after 35km (22mls) of country driving before reaching highway. Finished with 7,3l/100km (32,2mpg). Not bad for a almost 22 years old 3.0i :D I'll probably never see such a value again

Checked the MOT history as mine turned over 110,000 miles today and I have done 2,000 since I bought it in July this year.

I've done more miles in the last 5 months than it had done in the last 3 years.

what’s the model and what tyres have you gifted it with???

It's a Z4M, recently purchased, and it now has a nice set of Continental AllSeasonContact2s (which will be swapped for summer tyres around May)

Whipped out the Joying head unit that has a persistent hiss and wired up a replacement Pioneer head unit that adds Wireless CarPlay, and importantly lets me move the floating screen down so it doesn't block the heater vents. Pioneer SPH-DA97DAB, although the "talk" button on the steering wheel acts as a call hold (short press) & hang up (long press) rather than activating Siri which is irritating. Suspect I'd need a different SWC module to change that, will live with it for now. More importantly, no hiss from the speakers either when playing nothing or when music is paused. Much better than the Joying unit.

Next up, physically fitting the Pioneer unit into the space and getting it all angled correctly so a high sun behind the car doesn't blind me. That might have been an issue with the old Pioneer unit where I couldn't adjust the height or angle of the screen

Tried to fit a different air filter to replace the infinitas one as they say it's to restrictive. Failed, filter I got was too big, back to find the right one.

I've tried both Ramair and DNA filters on my Infinitas s/c. The Ramair was too big by about 10mm in every dimension and so was tight up against the suspension tower and bonnet when it was shut, stressing the plastic body of the MAF. I settled on a DNA which is a little smaller, fits perfectly and has been excellent so far. My engine is the 2.5i M54 so the MAF is 80mm diameter, the 3.0i is 90mm iirc :thumbsup:IMG-20220407-WA0011.jpg20220331_163257.jpgScreenshot_20220429-212143_Chrome.jpg20220612_173945.jpg
