What have you done to your car today?

After investigating a plastic rattling sound coming from the top of the inlet manifold on my E86. I removed the Disa and found this;

Yes it’s toast! Decided to also remove the smaller one which is at the back of the inlet. It’s not too bad but I’ll replace both. My car is at 118000 miles so it’s about time I guess….
Have you sourced replacements? If so, where?

I sourced replacements via car parts in motion on eBay. I’ve used them many times and they are spot on. EBay had an offer on so they were advertised at £160 each but reduced to £145 each inc 48 hr postage. Febi Bilstein so the quality should be fine. Autodoc have the same Febi units at £148 inc postage and import tax. But obviously it’s a week or so for postage.

Part numbers all match up so all should be well 🤞🏻

They should be with me today at some point. I won’t have the time to fit them until next week though.

Cleaned out the roof drains. One was blocked at the bottom in the rubber bung and one was blocked at the top in the cavity by gunk and a bolt. Both clear and washed through. Today’s task to polish the headlights and take apart the gauge cluster as it’s dirty inside!

Washed it, for the first time since I fell out of love with it on the way back from the Nurburgring (in April). :D

It's definitely '10-footer' paintwork, and I'm really not into detailing or any of that malarky, but it does scrub up pretty well.

Use less shampoo mate. You've shrunk the aerial. :poke: :D

My fault entirely for putting it on a hot wash. That's usually MrsP's favourite trick.

That looks good where did you get the blue from dial from?

Got mine from here https://venoxy.com/697-e85-z4. They are also on eBay from the same supplier . They will also customise them for you

Hi all, I managed to work out how the “eccentric bolts” at the rear work and pulled in the camber so the wheels look more upright. Whereabouts are the “toe” bolts and are they easy to adjust?

The toe bolts are to be found at the end of the trailing arm that that goes up just in front of the rear tyre . Number 17 on real oem . Easy enough to adjust .

Gave it a minor service - oil change and filters :driving:
Show us a pic of the old girl :)

These are the pics I got while I was doing the oil change.

The old air filter wasn't too bad actually. Oil was black but the filter showed no warning signs. Just about broken in I reckon!

Sadly weather has been shite the last few weeks so haven't been to any photo worthy places!
