I worried as I'd never done one. Took less than an hour to swap it over and then a bit longer to do the fancy bleeding process. Longest part of the whole job was getting it up on ramps and the undertray off.chanlon1 said:AdyBish said:Whilst I was under the car I took a look at the water pump and stat. It definitely looks like it could still be the original pump. I’ve no history of it being changed and it’s pretty cruddy. The car is on 118000 miles so decided to replace it and have put an order in to Autodoc. More tinkering to come then Happy days![]()
Interested to hear how this goes as it's something I think I need to do on mine. Hoping the fact it's electrical makes it easier.......
Always a big moment Iain, well done.Mr Tidy said:Nothing too exciting but I took it for an MOT and got a Pass with no advisories.![]()

I hope it’s worth it, because it’s a lot of effort to replace a few o-rings. Thanks to [ref]bigwinn[/ref] for confidence building advice along the way.

I have put photos of the foglights on my new member thread if you want to look.

How much is your re-spray costing out of interest?

Apart from the cost of respray and parts.
I run a garage so do all the work myself which saves a lot.
I’ve still spent a lot on wheels tyres suspension and other bits to make it perfect.
I fear I cannot compete with a garage owner! Lovely car!

That's a precarious place to put your glass of cola!![]()
Changed the oil about 100 miles ago as can see from what I’ve what I dropped on the garage floor. The black (actually not as black as it looks) stuff came out of the VANOS oil pathways to/from the solenoids which don’t get a great deal of circulation. I won’t be drinking it

Next up back brakes, and to stop the front from squealing every time I brake.

I need to remove my seats to clean under them; I’m guessing that it’ll not be all that pleasant under them after 16 years! Daft question, but will the car be in transport mode if I disconnect the battery to remove the seats? It’s the one that’s put me off so far.
