Love carbon leather, looks great
Try cleaning your seats with woolite, can be bought in a supermarket for £5. Mix at 15 to 1 with water. Apply 1 coat and leave for a few minutes, then apply another coat and agitate with a brush and then apply a 3rd coat. Finally wipe over with a well dampened cloth.
Apply a good leather protection cream afterwards.

Installed a new door membrane (water leak). Also, started changing over from grey interior trim to black. So far have done the window switches, door speaker grills, radio, center air vent, and the trim rings around the a/c controls. Painted the door handle and door pull with a gunmetal grey to tone it down from the bright silver (it's darker than it appears in the picture).

Be careful with cleaning the seats. I bought a leather cleaner & conditioner set. Didn't overdo the cleaning but ended with discolored seats. So I got them repainted after that. They weren't in best condition before anyway.

I needed to clean the alcantara on a pair of E89 seats:
I then found it also cleans leather better than any leather cleaner I have used before
I'd recommend to use it as your first stage of the prep work for painting.

Your seats basically needed painting regardless because of the coating being worn off. The original coating is very very tough and will handle abuse from many different chemicals. Once it's gone though then the results you experienced happened

I was however told that beige colour is way more sensitive than black, also the car being a convertible adds to it. Then somebody just had to use some agressive chemical on the seats and there you have your paint worn off.
My back was a little sore this morning. The roadster is a "Diva Roadster" kit car. It's all fiberglass with a Chevy LS1 V8 and a 6 speed manual. Hopefully I'll get finished soon.1536Z4 said:BumpyZ4 said:

Another bath and polish for this 
Reset handbrake and adjusted after having new cables fitted and then refitted handbrake trim so all done . What a faff doing the handbrake adjustment . Must do something about aluminium on the gear knob . I was going to buy a new knob off ebay which is black but may just paint or cover the aluminium colour in vinyl wrap or even carbon fibre / epoxy .
