What have you done to your car today?

of a plate change

Plate changes aren`t always instantly noticeable as being indulgent . We have both our initials as the main part of the number plate on our daily driver . The first part is my 2 initials followed by 2 numbers and then my better halfs 3 initials . It was the basic price on the DVLA site and was too good for us to miss . Go on you know you want too :poke: :D

Thinking - sorry, no pics - of a plate change. Always shunned them as unnecessary and indulgent. But she’s nearly 14 years old now; not everyone needs to know it. I guess they split opinion.
I’ve got a £1000 service & MoT bill to pay in feb on our CLS too 😩 so should ignore the urge

My car came with a private plate on it and I kept it.

The plate is 'R888 ***' and my name is Rob so it's almost a personal plate.

My recommendation is just go with a previous generation seven digit plate which is meaningless to you. They suit the car imo.

I've never had a private plate before and wouldn't get another purely because I'd spend far too much time over choosing one for it to be worth it.

Mine is **04 ZZZ where ** is my initials. My car is an 04 anyhow so that fitted ok. I see lots of **04 ZZZ plates on DVLA site for £250 which is not too expensive.

I like mine, if you're half pi$$ed and spin round the E looks like a Z

Caught a coolant leak very early the other day, possibly the beginning of it. Traced it back to it being the water pump. It wasn't dripping out of the weephole but from the actual seal. Just swapped it with a new water pump with a metal impeller this time  It's been about... 7-8 years since I last did this job before. Did the job much faster now

I also saw my serpentine belt was cracked in many places, much more than I'd like, so I bought a new serpentine belt.

CHECK YOUR BELTS PEOPLE!

Check the serpentine belt?!?! Is that another thingy lurking under the bonnet? That bit of metal that only gets opened to rub the polish off the edges? You lot make me giggle. So thanks

Not today, but last thing I did was fit a stubby boy :)

On my 2.0 E85 back in the day, it was all one piece I think, so I had no luck replacing the whippy one. This one took 2 seconds to screw and unscrew, which is a nice change for me when it comes to cars. Long may it continue!

Finaly finished polishing the car and finished it off with some Jetseal 109 and some Soft99 Kiwami Extreme Dark wax . Just the wheels and tyres to sort out and the glass to clean .

Very, very, very nice, lot of work but looks great

Managed to get the gearbox oil changed. Wasn’t too bad, just a bit fiddly trying to get the fill plug out. Not much room there. Big difference though having the car up on the ramp.

Some homework done during winter season.

Rear stabiliser support replaced. It was suspected to cause clunking noise when manouvering (especially on uneven surface) or changing directions at low speeds.

No test performed yet, so I don't know yet if a problem is solved :D

The sticker on new part said stabiliser support :D why are they called "D" bushes?
When you hold the rubber bushing flat section vertical and to the left, it looks like a D. :)

Changed oil & filter and decide to clean up the oil filter top. Would like to replace the engine M emblem...pricey!
